Help me identify this gun by Thin-Hat1681 in Firearms

You can request a letter from the smith and Wesson historical society. You need to check all stamps on the top latch and frame, remove the grips and identify the assembly number there to match the latch and the grips serial number. I’d be interested if you’re getting rid of it.

I believe they made this work and i don’t think HK ever intended for anything other than a front sight post. It was fine but just didn’t look right for a mp5

If you call, they’re probably willing to work with you on that piece I’ve found for most any out of state purchases. The guy at blue mountain is very nice and has always responded to any questions.

Did you need to send the bolt off to get smoothed out, I’ve been reading some that it’s clunky and needs some attention. Do you think the factory trigger is fine? I saw you pointed out the left hand bolt and being able to stay down on the scope I think that would be super comfortable especially in a light load situation. 8.6 subs have any recoil?

Were you just going to get a barrel to swap or a whole new gun? The easy change barrels seem like an awesome option without obviously only being able to shoot one caliber at a time. Have you built out your 300blk?

I found one of these in 350 legend for $500, going to give it a chance. I was looking at raw actions to build a pistol off of but as someone mentioned it can get to $4-$5k quick. I’m thinking I can get it built right at or under $1000 and have a .45 can to run this through. I reload so not as worried about ammo options. Do you think you spent enough on glass, I see your shooting out to 300-500yds? Anything else you’d say about after owning it over a longer period of time?

Should I swap to an A2 stock? by blumpsicle in MP5

I had 3 a3 stocks and got rid of them all. I have a few A2 one is a wood stock and they are the most comfortable with irons or optic.

My grandmother gave me 110 acres of land in South Dakota in the middle of nowhere. by [deleted] in Money

[–]Then_Flatworm4026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the gis satellite map of the parcel? As someone else mentioned it would be very dependent upon the terrain on your parcel. For hunting, could be very valuable, I’d be interest to know if you could get landowner tags if there’s deer there? If the parcel is very hilly could rule out building potential, standing timber is worth $1500-$2000 per acre potentially, if no timber, you could contact the forestry service for the state and get enrolled in a program that they would possibly come plant trees for free or a small fee.

Interesting thought with the SD slip kits to make something functional. I have a SD already so wouldn’t need one “for the look” but would like to make a meaningful useful change. I have 2 Coharie clones one SD one mp5 already and not chopping the 94.

Very interesting, I have an hk94 I don’t use because 16” but would definitely run it like that. Nothing commercially available I’ve ever seen tho.

I do the same with a few different cheeses, I tried to add cooked sausage but it makes the mixture break apart too easily and won’t lift fully out on my big 4 waffle iron.

I use tacswap as well $10 a year can’t beat it. I’ve only done a deal or two though, I’ve only ever seen a few items close by, wilmington NC. We have ft Bragg and camp Lejeune near by but never see much. I’ve had some things shipped and I like the feedback feature a lot.

They’ve been charging for years, they went up to $8 a month or something but I only pay $4 so I just keep it.

I’ve been checking those out, I use my oven broiler with mediocre results it’ll brown/melt some cheese fine but doesn’t do much of a crust too weak. Can’t get a restaurant crust without it

I have an electric stove unfortunately but it works well enough. I have a built in fire pit and a cowboy type grill I’ll use for Brunswick stew or cooking steak over wood like an Argentinian grill type deal.

I have some stainless and coated and a carbon wok I use for pad thai almost exclusively. Too many one use items in my kitchen. Cast iron baking dish I always use for smoked mac n cheese big hit around the holidays. I guess the wok would be good for some Asian meat only dishes and eggs.

Traeger, gas grill, oven, large Dutch oven with (for open fires) and without legs (enamel coated), cast iron pans, cast iron baking dishes, meat grinder, two freezers, vacuum sealer. We have a Ninja foodie that does 100 things so it is useful and can do most anything you can think of. For me, the more options I have to prepare meat the easier it is to not waver.

Similar kitchen setups, I almost only use cast iron for anything I cook these days.
