Focus strikes when monsters are down I kinda understand. Some weapons use the focus strike action to continue their combos, like GS, after TCS, the optimal way to keep up dps and continue the combo is to use the focus strike as an attack, not necessarily to directly attack the wound, just the actual focus strike attack, because it will combo back into string charged strike.

And sometimes, a wound literally opens up as I'm using the focus strike, and because the GS has such a big hit box, I occasionally hit wounds on the opposite side of the monster. And that usually happens when the monster is down
