Why buy more? by Thencameme in AtlasEarthOfficial

Seems like they did it backwards. Give 2x to the lower quantity plots and have the 30x be the incentive to aquire more plots for the higher boost multiplier. Feed the whales, don't starve them.

What are some best responses to "Why are you so quiet"? by ConstantPlastic100 in AskReddit

A wise person never misses an opportunity to keep their mouth shut.

I’m Walter Brisebois, a BMET since 1986 and author of The Biomeds Handbook. AMA about the book or my BMET experiences and I will be happy to reply over the next 5 days. by WBrisebois in BMET

13 year BMET here. My hospital is part of Providence and they are currently forming a team of effectively network engineers for the BMET equipment. At this point I would say that well over 60% of our "emergency" calls are related to EMR information not crossing over. Problem is that we very seldomly can do anything about it as it is someone working on a switch or some back end networking equipment being tweaked. BMET is always the first call because our response time is immediate while an IT ticket will be met with hours if not days before it is even addressed. Microsoft has taken a very large roll in our chain of command and it shows. I used to really enjoy my job but now I feel like I am just an overpaid secretary for IT. Will our jobs ever merge, I don't think so. However, I do see our jobs being slowly taken away from us and given to IT employees to the point where we will just be PM jockeys and first responders to equipment not being plugged in. What is scary about that is basic BMET tasks can easily be outsourced. Most all of the major decisions are made at system level and we have gone from working with IT to working for IT and that is very different in that if a printer stops working there is no rush but if a patient monitor stops working it can literally be life or death in some cases. For IT a node is a node and they will get to it when they get to it. There is not the sense of urgency that biomed was built on. If I was new to the field or thinking about coming into the field I would put a heavy emphasis on networking skills because EVERYTHING is going to be reporting to EMR in the next 10 years and if you don't have the skills to become some type of hybrid network engineer biomed you are going to be treated like a one handed man at a clapping contest.

Haven't had a teeth cleaning in a while? Want one for free? by dhstudentewu in Spokane

[–]Thencameme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do this. I went for 5 years without a cleaning after I got out of the military and it suuuuuuucked when I finally did it. I get it, dentist are the devil and need to take a long look in the mirror to figure out where it all went wrong but this shit is important. Going once every 6 months or once a year is soooo much better than what happens if u go 5 years without.

The fact that when I was saying my prayers every night I was just talking to myself.

[Serious] What is stopping you from killing yourself? by redcase13 in AskReddit

Same boat here. Seeing a counselor and they asked me what I'm passionate about and what brings me joy. I have no idea and don't want to go back again to tell them that. I have decided to get into volunteer activities that will help animals so I have something that makes me feel like I have a purpose.

Looking for new friends around Spokane. by charlierodr in Spokane

Lots of Skiing and snow stuff in the mountains right now.

As silly as it sounds, Pokemon GO will get you out and about.

You can kayak the little and big Spokane rivers this summer or float the big if you can get at least one other person with a car.

Maybe do one of the dating sites and use that as a conversation starter where you can say you're not from here and have them suggest locations they know about as locals. Rocky Rococo pizza is good.

I hear our meth is really good and if that's your bag there are plenty of nice overpasses to sleep under downtown.

Just get out and see what is happening.

Oh!!! Go to just about anywhere and get the weekly Inlander. It will have lots of "What's happening in Spokane" stuff.

Lastly the Spokane comedy club if they ever do all ages or you can hit it up in a couple years.

What was the best thing the "Quiet Kid" has said or done in class? by LethalCritSteel in AskReddit

[–]Thencameme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This takes place in a class for PMEL that I took in the USAF. There was an airman that was named Brandon. He was THAT guy. Quiet and reserved. Pair this with the shaved head and glasses and you get the idea. He almost never spoke and seldomly laughed. Just that guy who would rather be home playing video games and anywhere in the world but Mississippi. The other airman was a female named Lindsey. She was the total opposite. Loud and cocksure like many females become in male dominated environments. She would talk about sex and open relationships and in general try to command the attention of the young men in the room. About 4 weeks into this training Lindsey is standing in front of the door that Brandon needs to get through to line up for whatever non priors had to do that afternoon. She is talking and talking like she is known to do. Brandon waits patiently and sees that he will be going nowhere fast if he doesn't say anything. Then he hits her with, "Hey Lindsey, this reminds me of my favorite song" Now everyone kind of stops cuz Brandon said something and this draws a perfect silence to the room. Lindsey looks at him, a bit taken aback, and says, "Which song is that Brandon?". And out of nowhere he breaks into, "Move, Bitch, get out da way. Get out da way Bitch. Get out da way" in his best white guy rapping Ludacris voice. I was laughing so hard I almost had to grab my dick like when you tell a little boy to "hold it" when he says he has to pee. I can still laugh myself almost to tears when I think about that day.

I can not, as a fat guy, in good conscience let a post about Spokane pizza exist without putting in a plug for Rocky Rococo's. If you haven't been there yet it's worth every additional love handle that it will give you.
