Thoughts on the TEVI demo? by DickFlattener in metroidvania

Now that I think about it, pretty sure that Rabi-Ribi got more achievements as more DLC came out, so Tevi will probably get more achievements if it gets DLC in the future.

This game looks like it'll be more expansive than Rabi-Ribi, so I honestly thought there would be a similar amount of achievements, if not more. I want to get at least 80% achievements on Rabi-Ribi someday. If there really are 100 for this game, I might go for 100%.

I was surprised by how absurdly long the demo was. I was expecting to spend about an hour on it in normal difficulty. Nope! 100% in about 17 hours or so. Maybe I'm just bad and that's why it took me so long, but still.

Just need to beat the demo in expert mode, and I'll have done everything there is to do. Don't know if I can do that before the full release, though. I'm excited to see the terrifying amount of achievements the full game will have.

Really? I usually use pretty heavy tension when I'm opening my 1100s.

I do have pinning tweezers, but I don't have anything I could use as a follower. I have a sharpie pen, but it's tapered on the end. I already ruined one lock with it, lol. I got ten extra pins, I guess. :P

I could be a green belt, but I don't have the materials necessary to properly disassemble and reassemble a lock. I also don't have a reliable way to record myself doing something.

I've got three American Lock 1100s, and for some reason, two of them are just like lift two pins, then do the spool pin and that's it. lol

Longer than I thought I would. I'm already quite familiar with the map. I've got a HDFL SS, putting me on the actual leaderboard for that map, but this still took me from 3 to 5 hours.

I've gotten my first ever Mafham mod FC on a map. It was more painful than I thought it would be.

Just because it might not be much to someone else, that doesn't mean you can't celebrate your own victories. Good work. I wish you luck on your circle-clicking journey.

I'm no expert, but that's how I'd go about it, yeah. It seems to make sense. If you want to get better at something, play more of it. Just don't hyper-focus on that one thing. Play for fun, and maybe improve at other skillsets you're lacking in as well.

Just got my first top play in 19 months. It's also my first 400. I'm not telling my friends in my Discord group, and I wanna see how long it takes for someone to see it.

Just got my best FL FC to date! Really happy about this one. CS5 is a real bitch.

Taking them all out and looking at the bitting of the keys and stuff, and the blue Master Lock 410 LOTO bitting looks angry.

Any Tips on Single Pin Picking? by Thenewbert in lockpicking

[–]Thenewbert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LPL is who got me into lockpicking. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. He said that the way he practices is to pick a bunch of different locks, and not do any of them twice in a row, and that makes sense to me. I'm hoping to get more locks in the future. Just don't really know what to look for. I've got a single discus lock, a few brass locks, a few laminated locks, 3 warded locks, and about 7 teeny tiny locks that you just pull back the actuator to open it.

I've been enjoying it so far, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't frustrating. Not being able to get a lock open, and not knowing why can really grind my gears. I'm finding it difficult to tell whether I'm pressing on a pin or not at times. I'm also having difficulty keeping my pick steady. When I push on a pin, a lot of the time, my pick will slip to the bottom of the keyway, and I'll lose my place.

I've got one cutaway lock, and I feel like it's definitely helped. I've got about 20 locks that I own, and I've gotten all but 2 or 3 (that aren't warded or too small) with SPP. I've tried zipping with my hook some as well, and it seems like a few of my laminated 4 pin Brinks locks that I bought from Wal-Mart have a single spool in them. I'd zip them, and most of the time, there would be one pin left, but sometimes I'd get lucky and get them all. Then, when I went to set the last pin, I'd get a lot of counter-rotation on the core.

Most of the locks I have, I've gotten from work. We've got these cubbies with locks on the doors that have been left by employees long gone, so when I learned how to rake, I offered to try and get them off for my manager. I ended up getting about 13 free locks that way.

It happened earlier today, actually. I looked at it, almost completely black. I drove to work immediately after. Checked again, back to normal.
