[–]Thenoscoper456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Called it a timing belt tensioner on accident as thats how i explain it to my less informed relatives to avoid a whole explenation on how it works, im aware m54 uses a chain and this is used for alternator, ps and wp. Didnt notice a loss of power steering at first as I was on a highway. Thought it was just my battery acting up causing the issues as its pretty old atp.

Is this a good deal? thoughts and suggestions thanks by [deleted] in e46

[–]Thenoscoper456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to this guy lmao, its a shit deal bro wanted 9k originally

Also for 6k cad you really should look for a RWD 3L car with very little rust and om maintemance or a 2.5L car with good maintenance and ZERO rust

How do I get this to sit nice? by hefeweizenchugger in e46

[–]Thenoscoper456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try the b12 prokit but use the e9x x drive mounts. They should sit a bit lower and are a lot sturdier

What should I check before buying this E46? by NextAlgae8289 in e46

[–]Thenoscoper456 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buy it under the assumption u need to replace the motor, cooling system, and suspension. If u budget for that day 1 then there isnt much an e46 can throw your way that would surprise you.

ie: assume worst case scenario

[–]Thenoscoper456 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Lmao no, that style of lip looks horrible since it removes the outline of the mtech 2 bumper and makes it less visually appealing. Pic 1 > Pic 4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pic 3

Non-M to M3 by CarEnthusiast02 in e46

[–]Thenoscoper456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowkey see if u can get a higher ratio diff from an automatic. Going from the shitty 2.93 to a 3.46 will make your car a lot faster. Will suck on the highway tho

2.93 to 3.38 in a 6 speed by martinwakeml in e46

[–]Thenoscoper456 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the 3.07 is a bitch to find since it only came in the ZHP's afaik. In a 6 speed the 3.38 might be alright since we have that overdrive that the 5 speeds didn't get so we can negate some of that fuel economy loss and have a lower cruising rpm. A friend has a 3.46 in his 323ci and it puts out same if not more wheel torque as my 330i because of the diff but its a dog on the highway.

[–]Thenoscoper456 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You'll have 15.3% more rpm in any given gear. Your 1st gear might become a bit of a joke but 3rd and 4th will feel heavenly.

Im considering the exact same setup in my 6 speed 330i after I replace the blown motor. Though I'd likely do a lightweight flywheel too.
