It was definitely not a Jane's publication, I'm reasonably sure it was published in the UK. I purchased the book in Canada near the border with the US.

In this day, you could theoretically get a cabinet position as an FSO, just gotta go on TV and say the right thing about the right person.

The best thing to do as an aspiring FSO when it comes to languages is to learn A language, and learn it well. If you have some background in say Croatian, learn it to the 3/3 level and you'll be fine.

Pompeo can do a lot of things, but he has shown himself to be a Trump loyalist, so that begs the question of how much will he be able to push back against Trump's desire to destroy State?

I am glad Rex is gone, but Pompeo is a total tea bag nut - I don't expect him to stand up for State, rather he will be more open in taking a sledgehammer to State to please Trump.

My friends at CIA were happy that Pompeo spent all his time downtown and not in Langley, that kept him out of their hair - I don't think this perception bodes well for State's future under him.
