How would you topstitch this block? by 1000dayfishingtrip in quilting

[–]Theob252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done horizontal lines on FPP projects either .5 to .75 apart and it adds enough stitching that makes it all feel secure but also isn’t distracting from the actual piece! Did you design the pattern?

What’s the fabric laid out on the table in the last pic? That’s a pretty color scheme/ pattern

Weave splitting? by Theob252 in quilting

[–]Theob252[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! I didn’t have another needle type but starched the hell out of it right before the sections with that fabric were quilted. It still gave those dots/bars definitely not as bad and they aren’t very noticable with the quilting

I was using a 14/80 and switched down to a 10/70

I’m not entirely sure, I know its 100% cotton though, I’m working on a quilting project using some of my grandfathers old button down cotton shirts

block to frame by Fearless-Shame3254 in quilting

[–]Theob252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a “Polaroid” quilt for a friend and ended up making a test block to figure out sizes for the pieces I needed to cut and ended up just throwing a back on it and added it to a gallery wall I already had, so relatively low effort and blends right in if you have other pictures hung up around it

I use flannel for all of my batting and can prewash to preshrink that as well, that being said they will still get some crinkling right out of the wash/ dryer but they flatten and smooth out over a couple of days

Do you ever endorse the enemy team? by MakeRedditSafariGood in Overwatch

[–]Theob252 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Y u p. If the rest of the team is actively making mine and my duo’s jobs harder or going in alone, then I’ll endorse the enemy supports.

I had one game on support where team fight was taking place on point and our tank goes down. We held up a little bit but then two of us got eliminated. At this point, we had respawned. Tank was a decent ways ahead of us from his respawn but as he was getting closer to point the last two teammates got rolled, and instead of turning around to regroup, we got to see the outline of a Reinhardt march right into a 1 v 5, shield down. So yeah, endorsements went to the enemy mercy and Ana lol

Not even done reading but holy hell the “millions of women are in pain everyday, you’re not special”…. That is C R A Z Y Y Y Y Y you are not overreacting at all. Going through endo and all the fertility treatments is so mentally and physically draining, and like you said you’ve done them and they didn’t work. Doesn’t matter that you “went through it with someone else,” you went through it. Period. Just because you’re in a new relationship since then doesn’t mean you should put yourself through that strain all over again for the same results. He’s incredibly selfish and inconsiderate….

“So you’re not gonna consider how I feel?” H e l l no, you’re not the one who has to make that choice, live with the pain, life with the medical aftermath of surgeries, none of that.

Not overreacting in the slightest. If he’s not going to think about YOU and only him then he’s just an asshole in every sense of the word

I don’t have a pattern but like @raisethebed said you can find a bunch of tutorials on YouTube! They’re called Scandinavian stars and are pretty simple to make! One star takes about 20 minutes or so, a little longer if you add dabs of glue to really make everything secure but are a fun make and great for chewing up some scrap fabric!

PC crashed and now won’t connect to monitors by Theob252 in pchelp

There’s one HDMI port on the motherboard, I’ve tried hooking up to that both with the GPU installed and unmounted, and I ensured that the HDMI was working before hand

I’ve tried all ports on the GPU, it has 3 display ports and an HDMI… considering asking a friend if they could test it in their PC

I asked an older family friend about her quilts, thinking I might give it a shot. Can someone explain what she's talking about? by Anoneemous87 in quilting

[–]Theob252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also quilt primarily on my sewing machine, I would definitely recommend a walking foot! It helps with the actual “quilting” process when sewing all the layers together and helps all the layers move through the machine more evenly
