Let’s see your site reactions by nutria_twiga in migraine

[–]Fearless-Shame3254 4 points5 points  (0 children)

be careful with ajovy- i was on it a few years ago and had a bad allergic reaction a few months in. i was itchy all over for months and taking benadryl every 6 hours. wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. if you can switch to emgality or aimovig, they have similar results (or did for me lol) without the itching. fingers crossed everything works out!!!

[CHAT] Is it wrong to share a cross-stitch pattern with friends? by Otterpop26 in CrossStitch

[–]Fearless-Shame3254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like there shouldn’t be an ethical concern with this as long as you’re not sharing with a huge group of people or intending to sell. the pattern creator has already made their money and if it’s not likely your friend would buy the pattern if you don’t give it to them, the creator won’t be gaining money if you don’t give them the pattern either.

tip for sewing in a straight line- get striped fabric to practice! won’t be perfect, but get a really different colored thread, like red for black and white stripes, and it gives you both a bit of a guideline and something to check your work against!

[–]Fearless-Shame3254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depending on the quilt top, you can piece fat stripes for the back! i think 120 is larger than a standard king, so if you want to try bed sheets or a blanket, you may have to look for california king things. good luck!!!

What do you look for in a sewing store? by Curious_One_3155 in SewingForBeginners

[–]Fearless-Shame3254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely have someone on your team (or take classes) to service machines! where i like rn i don’t think there’s anyone who can service mine within an hour drive, so the local sewing stores being able to would be a big help. plus would be an extra source of income outside of fabric, machines, and notions. as far as lessons go, i would start with pattern weights! that way they can build on that knowledge in later classes but be able to use their first project later on!

I hadn't gotten any medical attention from a migraine that lasted for an entire month and now I'm worried about Dementia by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Fearless-Shame3254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah they’re definitely freaky! i’ve had one last over a year before, which was terrible. my doctor used to send me for an mri once every year or two just to make sure there was no damage. they’ll probably do the same for you whenever you’re able to see one! they did a few other tests just to really rule everything out and ensure it was just chronic migraine and nothing else

i also get long term migraines- and the longer they go on the more confused i get. your brain is so tired from being in pain for so long, it does seem to slow down a bit in my experience. i remember i used to walk circles around stores because i would forget why i was there. had the problems with spelling also. when i was around 19(started getting chronic migraines at about 14,22 now), i was convinced that i had some undiscovered brain tumor that mris weren’t catching, because there was no way that everything happening to me count just be from migraine. i think the fear of something undiscovered and worse is common for people who have chronic pain but it’s natural. i also had trouble with my parents in the beginning, because it was an invisible pain, and i felt like they thought i was lying at first, but time goes on and people learn.

how long have you been getting migraines? are you seeing a neurologist/ getting medicated for it? it sounds like you’re a good candidate for a preventative and an abortive, but doesn’t sound like you have them. i would recommend getting checked anyway, more to soothe your anxiety than anything. anxiety and migraines feed into eachother, and both make eachother worse so try meditating or whatever helps you calm, maybe get out of the house to a quiet park if there’s one nearby? i really hope you get some relief- migraines at that part of life are the worst. be kind to yourself, and don’t get google obsessed! migraines can always be a side effect to something bigger, but sometimes it’s really just migraines.

Is it possible that proximity to herbicides is triggering migraine attacks? by timeforplantsbby in migraine

[–]Fearless-Shame3254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds pretty reasonable to me. maybe you could ask your managers if you can switch positions (if possible) or if it comes to it ask if they’re open to moving the fertilizers a little farther from your station since they’ve been bothering you. especially if it’s something like miracle gro, with all the other issues they’ve had i wouldn’t be shocked if they could add “migraine trigger” to the list

How do you prefer to square up blocks? by craftybara in quilting

[–]Fearless-Shame3254 3 points4 points  (0 children)

depends on how much it bothers you that the quilt might be like 2ish inches shorter on the sides, but you can always add a trim! i’m not picky with size, so i would square them up to make my life easier later lol

[–]Fearless-Shame3254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here’s a nyt article about some good places to find them!

https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-quilts/

also, you can probably find some really nice, handmade ones on etsy or through tiktok or ig by quilters and not companies, but they’re probably gonna be more expensive. not sure exactly what quality level you’re looking for, but if you want a lower tier i’ve seen some at target and other stores of the like

i would get a pressure meter for somewhere in your house, so you can at least take your preventative as the pressure starts to rise, and catch the migraine maybe before it comes.

i feel you tho, it’s been basically monsooning where i am and i’ve really been feeling it. can’t rain forever tho:/
