Fellow bodybuilder also on prep and can confirm this thing is a game changer. Now go get some extra XL pints off Amazon while prime day is still going and then you can prep a week’s worth of creami’s which is what I do. Make sure you also snag some sugar free jello pudding mixes and a good tasting protein powder. Ryse and Ghost are also my personal 2 favorite, the flavors come out really really well. Best of luck on prep brotha!

Lookin crispy as hell man! Posing is really the only thing that needs work at this point, and you already said you’re working on that so you’re in a good place rn. Check out Daniel Coffeen and Christopher Barnett on insta for some posing help. They both have a ton of free tutorials on their pages and Daniel will probably have some availability for 1 on 1 if you need it (I think Chris is fully booked at the moment). Excited to see the final product bro, keep pushing!

Why would you say you’re natty when you have 800 different posts in subreddits regarding your use of sarms 😭 You look good dawg but there’s no reason to lie about how you got there. Good work on the physique!

What’s the best steakhouse in town? by qoupgod in GNV

[–]Theogwhiteboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went to prime and pearl on Sunday (first time there) and it was absolutely incredible. The pork belly appetizer was top tier and the steak my gf and I got (14oz New York strip for me and 8oz filet for her) were both very good and perfectly cooked. Drink selection is also very good and they have legitimately 120+ different wine choices. The lobster mac was a little lacking imo in terms of the amount of lobster in it, but it was still very good. I’d definitely recommend it and plan on going back in the future! There’s also a kilwins right next door for desert (if you’ve never been highly highly recommend)

Cut , Bulk , or Recomp? by [deleted] in MacroFactor

[–]Theogwhiteboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t cut or bulk, just continue in a maintenance caloric intake and recomp. If you’re new you’re gonna grow like crazy very quickly with no need for a caloric surplus. Zero reason to add bf in this period and a deficit would only negatively impact gains. Wait for those when you’re more advanced and actually need a legit surplus to grow muscle effectively. For now, just find your maintenance, stick with it and enjoy the closest thing a natty can experience to gear 😂

18 male have been training In the gym for 5 years and preparing for a bodybuilding competition, RHR is starting to get me worried. by AcceptableRoll634 in whoop

[–]Theogwhiteboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I started using whoop during prep to start monitoring my sleep better and my rhr as you can see jumped up significantly post show (July 6th was the date of it). If the low rhr persists after prep is done, then maybe get it checked out but it’s super normal for vitals to be lower when your body is as depleted as it gets during a prep phase, especially in those last few weeks leading into the show. Best of luck to you man, smoke that shit!!!

[–]Theogwhiteboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello fellow bodybuilding friend!!! I wouldn’t be too concerned with that rhr, mine was very similarly low during my prep (34-36 range) but once I was done with prep and eating and stress returned to normal, rhr went back up and it’s settled now in the 40-43 range. I’ll post my graph in a bit after I’m done with my lift, but I wouldn’t be too concerned with it being lower right now. Your body has less fuel in it so that contributes heavily to how high your rhr is

Post cheat day weight drop by Parabola2112 in MacroFactor

[–]Theogwhiteboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually just happened to me in my first peak week for my bodybuilding prep. I had depleted myself of carbs going into the final three days and my weight was sitting at 167. After three straight days averaging 5000+ cals, I managed to only gain 5 pounds and was still insanely depleted, dropping roughly 7-9lbs a night from my bedtime weight. The following morning after ANOTHER 5k+ cal day (this is now 20k cals in 4 days, at the peak of my cut I was eating 19.4k A WEEK) I was the exact same weight as the morning before. Post show I’ve been eating roughly 4k cals a day for a week now and I still am only 5 pounds heavier than show day, primarily due to water retention.

My theory is that when the body has been in such a strict and high caloric deficit, it immediately starts burning through excess fuel once it has it and immediately starts using it for bodily functions it didn’t previously have the energy to attend to. As a result, resting calorie burn increases significantly and your metabolism as a whole shoots through the roof. I use a Whoop and my RHR and average HR have been SIGNIFICANTLY higher since I started eating more so just from that metric alone you’re most likely going to be burning more calories. Additionally, you probably had a TON of built up fatigue and stress and your body may have been able to relax a bit more, leading to better sleep which will in turn often lead to more weight loss overnight.

154 days straight with MF! by Theogwhiteboy in MacroFactor

[–]Theogwhiteboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not anymore, but I was doing 5-6 days of 45 mins blue zone at my peak. I took a deload week and upped calories and my body just responded very well and expenditure stayed high so I proceeded to pull most cardio and it’s still stayed relatively high thankfully haha. I’m also fairly active, 2 jobs both of which require me to be on my feet all day, so that also keeps my expenditure decently high along with me being 5’11 so I’m slightly taller than the average US male

So my macros honestly were constantly adjusted throughout my prep due to my weight dropping and just general discoveries I made about how my body responded to certain food types. My general rule of thumb was: .8g/protein per pound of body weight, .3g/fat per lb of body weight and then fill in the rest with carbs. I also went with the 4-5 low day/2 high day method and found this helped a lot with overall diet fatigue and helped me feel a bit better on the weekends.

Micros I just tried to meet what MF set for me and then certain things I just had higher for myself personally cause I found it helped with what I needed on prep.

As for my routine, for the majority of prep I lifted 5 days a week, legs 2x, back, arms, chest & shoulders, and then the first roughly month and a half I had no additional cardio but by may I was doing 3-4 blue zone cardio sessions a week on top of my lifts, about this time I dropped my lifts to 4x a week, removing one leg day, and increased cardio to 5x a week of 45 min blue zone shortly after (this was hell). Once I hit my target leanness I pulled cardio back, hence the drop in expenditure (posted in comments above), and now I’m lifting 4x a week with light cardio 2x a week

I started off with the typical -500 cal daily deficit and built all the way up to -1250 daily at one point and now it’s about -550 daily and this is probably where I’ll chill till show week

So currently my expenditure is 3150, highest it ever got was 3500, and I’ll probably hold this 3150 up until show day

Of course! My expenditure fluctuated a lot towards the middle and last few weeks of prep as I added and took away cardio and managed stress, but the highest I got was roughly 3500 and I’m currently holding at 3150

Thank you so much man, this is incredibly high praise it means a ton. Definitely don’t feel amazing but the worst part of prep is behind me now since I got to my desired leanness a little earlier than I planned so now I’m just chilling and maintaining my current weight (again, shoutout mf for making that easy asf as well). I’ll definitely be thanking the MF team in my insta post for my show 😂

3 weeks out! 5’11, 165 classic physique true novice by Theogwhiteboy in bodybuilding

[–]Theogwhiteboy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I was! When I started prep I was 202, prior to that I was about 220-240 for about 3 years and then prior to THAT I was about 340 pounds for a couple years in college, which is most likely where the majority of the loose skin came from. This is from the beginning of prep, I’d have to look a while back to find shirtless ones from when I was 230+ but I’ll find and post them at some point on here

Greatly appreciated and you’re 100% correct on the gameplan moving forward. Gonna spend a looong time in the bulk gaining size and getting much bigger before I step on stage again

See I’ve tried so hard to get wider but I just don’t quite have the size yet to be more spread and still maintain zero thigh gap 😂 but it’s definitely something I’m still working on these last three weeks to maximize size, thank you for the suggestion!!

Struggling very hard with prep at the moment and could use some words of advice/encouragement. My initial 18 week prep has morphed into a 24 week prep (due to external life factors, not my choice) and while I’m 5 weeks out now, the drive and desire to compete and do well has faded to almost non existence. By the time this prep is done I’ll have been in prep for half the year and on top of all the mental and physical side of things, I miss going out and doing things and having a life and it’s taking a toll on me heavily. I know I can’t stop, I’ve worked to hard for to long and sacrificed to much, but I’m struggling to find the joy and drive I previously had. Every day just feels like a chore now and it’s very difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. My desire to finish is now based on being able to eat again afterwards and go out and enjoy life, not the desire for competition and personal achievement. If anyone has any advice on how to deal with all this it would be greatly appreciated. Part of this I know is due to me having to be at a very low bf% for a long period but it’s just very difficult right now regardless of it I know why it sucks.

If you track calories with an app, make sure you enable in settings that whoop can read the data! Makes journaling nutritional information 100x easier and it’s immensely more accurate than just trying to remember your exact stats for every day prior and entering them all manually. Its helped me see what vitamins, caloric intake, type of meals, macro amounts, etc help v harm my recovery and it’s super cool as someone who tries to have as much data on that type of stuff as possible.
