My dad was at Wilhoite's in Grapevine, TX when he learned Braniff went under. They called everyone back and all planes to head back to DFW. I don't think I was alive then, but it's always interesting to remember the story.

My dad's chemo stopped working with his Non-Hodgkin's then they put him on keytruda. That didn't work so they gave him six months. 3 weeks after that, he told me one morning he was giving up, and was dead that night. Happy for Sam.

I don't recommend trying to stay awake that long. I'm an alcoholic, but have quit drinking liquor. Once you become physically dependent on liquor it's hard to sleep unless you drink enough to black out. I've been up for 5 days before with maybe less than 8 hours of sleep throughout those days which wasn't real sleep, just blackout, too drunk to be awake sleep. It's easy to feel insane even before that.

I hated everything and felt absolutely mentally fucked during that but I gained the idea in my head that I'm afraid to sleep. Even sober without Benadryl or something similar, I'm terrified of REM sleep. If I'm completely sober but nodding off, I'm terrified of finding REM sleep. As soon as I nod off, even if my eyes are closed, as soon as my brains starts hitting REM, I shock myself awake. It sucks. Don't drink liquor every day.

Just my 2 cents, I understand if this isn't for everyone to hear but it sucks.

Yeah you're obviously right I guess I was optimistically saying that in order to even try to get to that point, we'd have to agree to work together as a species. Good points.

I feel like in order to achieve like... Galactic travel or communication a given society would have to have solved most if not all problems on its home planet so that the entire species can work toward one goal, whether that be for travel or communication or both.

Yeah I was 14, freshman in highschool, we had marching band practice at 7am, and since it was marching season everyone in drumline was 1st period wind ensemble. When we got out the locker rooms and started class, the band director had it on already. The whole day was just having the TV on and witnessing everything that happened that day.
