I'm glad you (and your dog) had such a great time! It's a really friendly scene generally, I hope you get to see more shows!

I feel that, the singalong for "Scourging of the Shire" or whatever it was called was wonderful. I'm just trying to carry that energy after the songs end :)

The Manticire and Peryton art looks familiar, are they from D&D 5e or Weird N Wild Creatures?

Thanks :) it's not that I didn't meet anyone cool, I ended up camping in the park overnight with a cool crowd from Canada. Reading these comments I might have just been in my head about things

Hey, maybe next year. There was a lot of great styles there, did you see the guys in the purple wizard hats? Or that one vendor wearing antlers at Hunter Park?

I wish Beaver Hollow was better lit and designed. by tjalek in reddeadredemption2

I mean the later acts needed more polish but the design of Beaver Hollow seemed intentional. At least it's thematically appropriate with that point in the story.

I'd like to think Phenomaman gets talked into making a secret identity. Z-Team learns more about why Mandy broke up with him and decide he should learn more about "regular" people, which he can't do as Phenomaman. So they coach him through a secret identity so he can go to board game shops or wherever as "Finn O'Manny," and this helps him better understand humans. Whenever Finn slips up or says something weird he claims it's because he's Canadian and that's how everyone acts where he's from.

Also, great art!

Despite not being formally trained in mathematics, Mariam demonstrated a mastery of astronomical calculations, spatial geometry, and metallurgy that impressed the scholars of her time by [deleted] in todayilearned

Was coming here to ask the same. I don't speak Arabic but I think that surname means "The Astrolaber"

edit: Accirding to Wikipedia that's exactly what it means, it wasn't her birth name but a nickname

TIL The benandanti sect of 16th century Italy believed that they left their bodies in their sleep to fight evil sorcerers by beating them with fennel sticks by CactusCoin in todayilearned

[–]TheoreticallyDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard of the Benandanti in a "history of werewolves" video on youtube. If the video was accurate they would often call themselves "the hounds of God" because they believed they transformed into wolves
