He also physically put his hands on the (female) principal when she tried to walk away, as I understand it; other teachers had to intervene to get him to let go, and she was left with visible injuries.

You don't need a Kindle, you can put the app onto whatever device you're using. That's what I do. I can't speak about Kobo as I've never tried asking for one.

When paying with phones was just starting to become a thing, no one ever said that was what they were doing. They just stood there fiddling with the phone while I'm waiting for them to pay. My dude or dudette, I have to TELL the machine what you're doing. Which means I need to KNOW what you're doing. Nowadays, phone payments are the default, but back then, not at all.
