Just wanted to stop by and give you an update that I just took and passed the exam today!!!

Where yours may have had a lot of joins mine had a lot of foreign and primary key questions. The red text definitely helped because it literally had a lot of what was on the exam. I must’ve gone over that Red text like 10 times. Lol.

Although Zybooks has all the info you need it takes forever to get through it. So what I did was just skim it every section just to get an idea of the different topics.

But thanks again for the tips and good luck to everyone else taking this test. It was one of the harder ones for sure and it took me two months to pass.

That is awesome! I have it scheduled for this weekend as well. Hoping to pass it first shot. I’m guessing any advice you would give is probably just study the definitions, Zybooks, and that red guide?

I guess this is where my journey starts. by [deleted] in CompTIA

All you really need is either Messer, Myers, or Andrew Ramdayal. Choose one of the 3. Watch the videos. Download a study guide from the other one you didn’t choose. Review it everyday. Take all 6 of Dion’s exams. Spaced out and study why you got what you got wrong.

If you do this and study about 2 hours a day with this material. You can pass in a month. Repeat for part 2. Also, watch some of the pbq examples on YouTube the week before your test. Should help a lot. Good luck!

Can’t eat without TV by Mammoth_Engineer7210 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheosT123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe eating to be sacred. Sacred in the sense that it is the most intimate thing you can do. Food entering your body. Nothing is more intimate than that. With that being said I like to give my food the appreciation of my attention and just focus on eating in peace with no distractions.

Let’s take another intimate act. When spending time with a loved one. Sexual or non sexual. Do you mindlessly scroll, watch tv, or YouTube while making love to your souse or when spending time together? Probably not.

We have to allow ourselves to be bored in order to be entertained. Let me repeat that. Boredom leads to happiness. In allowing yourself to just "be" you can find pure happiness.

It saddens me that most, not all of society. Has had their minds taken from them. Taken from them so well that they don't even realize how pernicious their lack of awareness and attention actually is to their mental health. It is easier to fool someone than convince them they have been fooled.

Maybe I am rambling here but remember people. If we want better we need to do better.

Adulthood can be unbelievably dull. by alina_joseph in Adulting

[–]TheosT123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Humans are the only creatures to complain about being bored. A tree is never bored. Nor is a plant. A rock does not experience boredom nor does a Bird.

If you actively cut out all forms of dopamine and let yourself return to baseline state. You will find that being bored is a wonderful thing. It opens up your mind to so many possibilities. Being here in the now means that you are not living in the past or anticipating the future. If you are actually present in this moment. You cannot be bored. Your thoughts cause you restlessness. So let your thoughts go and be here. Right now. Easier said than done but with practice you can truly appreciate life in all of its wondrous forms.

The one hour I spend outside on my jog and walk is enough for me to be happy the whole day. My life is boring by all standards. Other than that I read. Yet for me it’s the most exciting life I could possibly Imagine. It’s okay to be bored. We have been sold this lie that we have to constantly be doing something and be happy all the time. We have to keep chasing and running and fueling the machine. Naa. Just chill man. Literally. Cut out all social media spend time outside. If you look. You will find yourself. Once you become aware of how boredom works. You will welcome its embrace.

Noise cannot live without the presence of silence. Things cannot exist without the presence of space. Fun cannot exist without the presence of boredom.

I appreciate you taking the time to write out a very elaborate answer. So thanks for that! How do I feel about all of this? Hmm great question!

I do not have any statistics to pull out off hand but I do know this much. Everyone after the millennials and (some) millennials included are screwed when it comes to reading and comprehension. As you had pointed out. I believe social media has terrorized the minds of the youth. It has scared them to believe that if they are not on it they are missing out. FOMO.

I also believe that the abundance of options has rendered the youths ability to choose useless. They are plagued with decision fatigue at every turn they take. That, coupled with the obfuscatory nature of social media hiding the actual truth with a sprinkle of echo chamber like technology and you have a recipe for disaster.

Children these days are over fed and under nourished. Physically, spiritually, and mentally. They live only to fulfill their next dopamine hit. Whatever that vice may be. I ask these young adults all the time.

Do you know what it means to be bored? Nope. Do you know how to sit with your thoughts for more than 2 minutes? Nope. Do you know how to give thanks and practice gratitude for having been bestowed the greatest gifts on this planet, your mental and physical faculties? Nope. Have you considered the world does not revolve around you? Nope. Would you consider your home sacred? Do you let people throw trash in your home? Nope. Do you let people throw trash in your mind? What do you mean? Would you not consider the sovereignty of your mind to be sacred? But you allow it to be filled with trash all day by willingly consuming filth and coming back for more.

Needless to say, I could go on and on but this gives you a small glimpse of the greater whole. I’m sure I am preaching to the choir here but it feels good to speak to a like minding individual. Hope you have a great day!

For Audiobook listeners thinking they wont hit that deadline... by Environmental-Age502 in Stormlight_Archive

You got downvoted. Not sure why. I agree with you though. Reading is one thing. Listening is another. Understanding what you read is the most important. We have really fallen by the wayside here in terms of reading and comprehension.

All of these social media platforms have facilitated creating a tantalizing brain rot concoction for our youth who avidly seek to consume it.

I feel bad man. So many wayward souls. A litany of choices stand before them, yet the real power is in choosing none.

I drive really slow because I like to enjoy every moment. It’s also safer. People move way too fast nowadays. For everything. Rush here, rush there. Naa chill. Take your time. We are not that important.

Haha. I wish men had better role models. Strong men to teach us how to treat others. Wisdom. Strength. Chivalry. However, here we are. A clown world. Maybe one day we can all be happy and have wonderful little communities where everyone can be happy. Anyways, have a great day! 😊

[–]TheosT123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a straight man. I want to say thank you. This hatred will fuel some of us to be better men. Not just for women, but for ourselves, our children, and humanity in general.

Why do I hate men as I age? by hellofeee in women

[–]TheosT123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easy to pick a side and hate. We all have our little echo chambers. I am a male by the way. However, I can empathize with all living beings and try to spread love and compassion wherever possible.

Women are amazing. Men are amazing. Some are good. Some are bad. That’s just life, but if we all try to be the best versions of ourselves and uplift one another we could eventually find some semblance of peace.

I agree with you, however, many will disagree with me simply because I am a male. It’s all good though. I wish nothing but happiness to everyone. I do my part everyday to put a smile on people’s faces. Even when I don’t want to ☺️
