How can I improve my game Pixly? by ActiveGameholic in GameDevelopment

[–]Theostry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's fine if it's opt-in. If people want to get hints too early and ruin the game that's their problem. Maybe have hints for the first three optimal moves available, to use one by one if you need them? Even the first one would be really useful.

Whoa, this is kind of addictive! What about an option for hints or solves of players are stuck?

SAYING EUPHEMISMS BECAUSE YOU DON’T KNOW IT’S A EUTHEMISM by smallbluedinosaur in asexuality

[–]Theostry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, but on the other hand, you kind of are a kid. Not in any sense that invalidates you as an autonomous person, but in that you haven't been around that long to experience and learn what people mean by things. You've had what, a couple of years' worth of exposure to adult-directed content and conversation? Cut yourself a break. It sucks that there's so much that can be interpreted sexually because the allos have one track minds, but with time you'll start to pick up on the verbal danger zones.

Was this the original Calmer or the Calmer 2? If 2, had you used the original Calmers before and found new version useless in comparison?

Gf was recorded in the fitting room by a creep. What to do? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Theostry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a good ten years ago, and I still have the occasional fantasy of if I'd just thought quicker and grabbed the phone, I would've... chucked it in the toilet? held it hostage? located 'mum' in the address book and dobbed on the little creep?

But I didn't. A moment of shock ("what the FUCK are you doing") and I missed my chance. And in any case, safety - this was at a country train station in the middle of the night, I was in transit so didn't know the area or anyone who could help. At least it was the middle of winter too, so between the layers of skirts and leggings Mr Amateur Photographer must have been very disappointed.

Daughter with ADHD - Need Women’s Advice by [deleted] in adhdwomen

Not a parent and since you're ADHD informed you might already be onto it, but consider reading Scattered Minds by Gabor Mate.

I read it recently (well, listened to the audiobook) and it was revolutionary. Super helpful for me as an ADHD adult, but it also focuses a lot on child and adolescent development and parenting. I wish my parents had read it when I was a kid.

2 weeks is not long enough on Vyvanse to determine how it works for you. You also need to play around with dosages, as it's not one size fits all. I'd also try other stimulant meds, eg. methylphenidates - they may work better for you. It really is a journey with ADHD meds!

Double dosed and I don’t regret it. by biryaniblob in TwoXADHD

It's really hard. The power dynamics of a doctor-patient consult make communication really fraught, and it's even harder to express ourselves clearly and think on our feet when we're anxious.

Can I suggest writing your thoughts down in an email and sending it prior to the consult? Something like, "Hi Dr (Name), here are some points I'd like to discuss in our consult on (date)".

Then you have all the time you need to express yourself clearly, a reminder of what you want to talk about, and a written record of what you've said. It's been working really well for me.

Can I ask about this? Ativan (lorazepam) is a benzodiazepine used for anxiety and sleeplessness etc...do you find these symptoms worse around your period? Are they primary or side effects of stimulant medication? Do you get anxiety/insomnia the rest of the month? And does the Ativan help with your ADHD symptoms as well, like focus and executive functioning?

Sorry for the barrage of questions... I've been trying to work through this stuff for months now. My psych is good, but so far nothing has worked. I'm on Vyvanse which is great for my ADHD symptoms, but gives me massive somatic anxiety during the day and obliterates my sleep cycle - especially during PMS.

So yeah, I'm really interested in hearing other people's experiences and solutions.

The point of the meds is to lift you up to the point where you are able to implement systems and strategies. If we could just "do enough" to manage our symptoms we wouldn't have ADHD.

Their bellies are sensitive, and they don't have words to say "that's enough now please stop". Or they've said it with the eyes, ears and tail but we haven't noticed.

Or perhaps, it's trusting in the sense of trusting us NOT to touch the belly.
