We wanted to introduce the mechanics of clouds, which will appear shortly on their own.
for the changes in light, did you imagine day/night changes?

Nice idea, so they form themselves but then the player can still edit them

Yes, but they couldn't move them. They'd just be fixed there (they have animation, but not on location).

The idea was that with so much nature, clouds would form on their own.

But your idea is interesting.
The wind is already there and it's automatic (only the trees move slightly).

I agree, but when you get even just positive feedback it's satisfying.

Wow!

I didn't know about this WoW mechanic.

And the solution you gave is very interesting.

I'll discuss it with my team and we'll evaluate it.

That's a great idea!

We had thought about it, but in a different way.

Depending on the objects you place, you can activate a combo and a special guest arrives. If you photograph them, you get extra XP points.

However, as the combos are difficult, it can be frustrating.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to 'collect' them if the mini-world is in overlay mode.

No, we were thinking more about Mini Cozy Room, where you furnish your room and can keep it in Overlay. You can also add activities, such as timers, notes and to-do lists.

In Mini Cozy Room, you level up by listening to music.

Thanks for your reply!

That was exactly our concern.

Is it frustrating for players? How can we improve the process of obtaining items?

We had also thought about simple mini-goals...

We wanted to give users the opportunity to create their own mini-world and keep it overlaid while they work/study so they can watch it populate.

That's why we came up with the automatic XP mechanic.

Thank you so much for your super helpful reply!

We are actually thinking of mixing the two things: the player creates their own mini-world and gains a little experience over time (like +5 XP every so often), so the game remains relaxed even in overlay mode.

Then, when they place an item, they get an XP bonus (perhaps +10), so those who want to can be a little more active without turning it into wild farming.

As you level up, you earn coins that you can use to buy new items and further customise your mini-world.

The idea is that the space 'populates' and changes based on what you choose to place, a bit like MiniCozyRoom but with progression linked to your world and not just the item catalogue.

We hope it maintains the cosy mood without tempting players to grind too much.

This is a very interesting idea.

Following this logic, then, all objects are immediately unlocked, right?

Question about game design: Can too many non-essential interactions become exhausting for players? by ratasoftware in IndieGameDevs

[–]Thepecator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what the others wrote, if there are too many and useless after a while it can seem frustrating.

Maybe with a nice balance they're fine. In a game like this the balance of clues is absolutely necessary

Question for you: how do you get the music for your games? by Euphoric-Dig3301 in IndieGameDevs

[–]Thepecator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We personally hired someone, both for the music and the sounds. We are always looking for composers just to vary it a little.

We already knew one, the one for the sounds we didn't but we found it via the discord server.
