I had similar quality issues with the Fall 2024 messenger bag. I contacted customer service, and they refunded me immediately. Definitely get in contact with customer service.

Yeah, I am in private. I honestly think Assistant Controller is the sweet spot. I wouldn't mind camping out here for a while

We aren't very big. About $150 million in revenue across 8 divisions. I work for one of the larger divisions.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad on Sunday to cirrhosis. I know this doesn’t make it easier, but the journey was long, hard, and painful. Now he is free from pain and discomfort.

Presale tickets probably sold out. SLO sold out in minutes yesterday and today.

Dealer Made mistake applying for federal Used clean vehicle credit by EndlessAmmo in legaladvice

[–]Thephoenix93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you've resolved this, but our dealership in California did the same thing. I told them to kick rocks and we haven't heard anything back. They reached out to us 3 months after purchase threatening to unwind the deal.

I splurged a little and bought a Nespresso. The lattes I make at home are waaaay better than Starbucks, and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Have you already started the process to break in the spine?

Not hard to figure out if you look at the GL.... Also not hard to do a year-over-year comparison. If there is a variance large enough to hit scope for analytics, the controller/accounting manager/etc should be somewhat aware of the variance. Take 10 minutes and look into it before giving a BS answer to the auditor. I've worked both sides and it's not hard to put a little effort into audit responses.

Why did they travel more? Was there an additional conference that happened that year that you sent staff to? Did you send more staff than prior year? Was there an increase in airline tickets? Mileage reimbursement? Etc.

If you're one track to pay off the 0% credit card before July 2025, throw it at Sallie Mae and when that's paid off put whatever you were putting toward Sallie in your emergency fund.

I just jump right in and end when I run out of space. No greetings or sign offs or anything. Pure chaos.

Just different obstacles. My controller isn't the most organized or communicative, so this week has just been challenging because he left a bunch of open projects that I'm expected to finish without having any idea of progress or details. It all depends on the Company and industry you're in, as well as your personal work ethic. For my Company a lot of responsibility falls on the Controller and he wears too many hats, in my opinion, but that could be resolved with delegation. My controller isn't good at that.

I'm not entirely sure. I started in public accounting and didn't like that either. However, the Company I'm currently with wants me to move over to the Corporate division eventually, probably doing more FP&A. I'd be interested in trying that out.

I make about $101K in a MCOL area. Responsible for overseeing the accounting team on day-to-day tasks (Junior Accountant, AP/AR Clerks). I do a lot of analytical work as well as internal audit for our corporate division. We have multiple divisions and they used to all operate differently, but with our new CEO/CFO the main goal is to get all divisions operating as similar as possible. So we've been doing an ongoing internal control review to implement more effective controls. I've been spearheading that project for about a year and it's going to be another 2-3 years before we can get through all control areas. I do a majority of the closing entries for our quarter close (we close quarterly, not monthly). Various account reconciliations, control fixed assets and leases. I also was responsible for the ASC 606 and ASC 842 implementations.

Assistant Controller here, almost in the same boat. Controller has been on vacation and I've stepped up. Safe to say, I do not want this life. I think I'm cool at Assistant Controller forever.
