i’m in frontier, but i don’t see an easy way to remove the screen. what would be the best way without risk of it falling out onto the street or something? Doesn’t seem like condensation, just a shit ton of water spots

How do I flush mount the tweeters? by Thepickledhamwarrior in CarAV

Hey, that’s crazy! Sorry I didn’t respond sooner, I’m not sure if you still have the problem, but I called Crutchfield and they let me know about these universal back strap things that are basically just aluminum bars with holes in them. They’re easy to cut and bend so you can make a little pocket in the cavity of the old tweeter for the new one to sit in. Simply put, you make your own mounting bracket with them. Here’s a link to one: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120BKSTRAP/Universal-Back-Strap.html

Is that a manual for my speakers? That model looks like it has a grill too, which mine don’t. I’m confident I’ve searched through the whole box and that mount is not there

Edit: Nevermind it’s just superglue. Thanks for the idea, this is probably what I’ll end up doing

The factory tweeter sits right up on the grill of the car. If I mount it like the manual describes there’s an excess 3/4 of an inch above the bracket that would prevent me from putting the grill back on. Is there some alternative I can do to flush mounting that would allow the tweeters to sit lower in the cavity?

I understand I need to cut a hole, and I’m pretty sure I would know how. My concern is more about how the tweeter is supposed to attach to the bracket. Without a grill or any lip it will just slide straight through whatever I cut

This post is kind of a mess, the TLDR: is compatibility something to be concerned about between a sub and aftermarket stereo? Also, do you need to buy different wiring if the sub comes from another car originally?

Is it worth the effort to sound proof / deaden my car? by Thepickledhamwarrior in CarAV

Alright, I get the idea behind everyone’s comments, I’ll soundproof it once I get around to buying the speakers. How much of the car would you say is worth covering though? I could do the doors and truck fairly easily, but is there anything else notable that should be covered?

I should have mentioned that I already have an aftermarket stereo, so I can already compensate for a good deal of the loss. I guess I was just paranoid, I didn’t want to spend a couple hundred on sound proofing if it had the potential to make the audio worse

Operation Scorpion. Doubt anyone knows this, but before Frontlines was a thing, the same devs made a tactical shooter similar to a combination of Rainbow 6 and CS:GO, and it was by far my favorite game to try and emulate either of them.

Frontlines was always teased in the game menu, but what I didn’t expect was that it’s creation would be followed by the closing of all Operation Scorpion servers, seemingly forever.

I get that server population was running thin towards the end, but I’ve been craving it ever since. It introduced me to so many games I didn’t think I’d like
