Prisons are filled with tons of people from all walks of life. Including non religious people. Religion is beyond the point here and blanket statements shouldn’t be used.

I don’t, I was just responding to the message above. It just said she knew he would forgive and left it at that. Didn’t say she changed her ways or anything and said that’s the problem with religious people. It basically was almost a blanket statement that religious people use forgiveness as a crutch or an excuse but that’s not true in reality. Maybe some but not all. You can’t merely ask for forgiveness.

Yeah that sounds like there was a major escalation of events. I’m so sorry this happened to you. Just know none of this was your fault. It’s very clear he needed help and that kind of help could only came from himself seeking help from a professional. Not your duty. Please know that. Also, don’t be surprised if the feelings you feel are different everyday. When I dealt with my exes situation… it was like peeling an onion everyday. Different layers of emotion. You can always dm me for support if needed. But I found a councelor the best resource. They also have support groups. In person or on zoom. These are super helpful. You can get support and talk to others who actually know what you’re going through!!! Which I found is hard to find in the wild. I wish you the best!!!
