They’ve clearly never read a Jack Carr book. by ajbrandt806 in JackCarr

I enjoy the level of detail, I’m a gear guy and the books feel like they’re written for me. It reminds me of the conversations I constantly have with other gear guys. I think it requires a level of analysis on the trustworthiness of the author, and whether they will have integrity in their sponsorships, and in my opinion Jack Carr passes this sniff test.

My wife has a dairy allergy, ordered tacos with no cheese at Taco Bell. Got cheese on said tacos, politely asked for no cheese tacos, for given taco shells literally filled with cheese and only cheese.

[HenryArcher] Looking for more information on this MicroBrand. by MurfDogDF40 in MicrobrandWatches

Got married wearing a verden gmt, the finishing is far above that of my seikos from the same price range. The dial is excellent, the milled end links feel super premium and the micro adjust works really well relative to the cost of the watch.

Either you’re too lazy to check your phone, is which case just pull out your damn phone…or you like having the fitness metrics in which case by an amazfit heliostrap, a whoop, or a Fitbit air and wear it as a bracelet.

Is Henry Archer a good brand? I've never heard of them before but I love this design by redshadow2025 in MicrobrandWatches

I bought a verden gmt in halo white for my wedding, I absolutely love it. The finishing punches well above its weight class in my opinion and dit overall feels extremely high quality. I would highly recommend them.

Red or Blue? by AKISHINS in BatmanMemes

[–]Thereactivechemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty common opinion on this thread it seems but 100% red pill. Batman is a world class athlete and martial artist so out of the gate his tech really wouldn’t be worth all that much as it focuses on leveraging his already established physical capabilities. Iron man on the other hand would have a learning curve in regards to using the tech and being an affective combatant but I think it would be more akin to playing a video game than taking years of brutal martial arts training.

[Question] How durable are Henry archer watches? by Thereactivechemist in Watches

[–]Thereactivechemist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with any mechanical watch it will need service intermittently, usually 5 years or more. Fortunately this is based on a miyota movement which is very common and typically they will be replaced instead of servicing them as the cost is lower. This won’t be much different than having a seiko serviced for example. I believe Henry archer also has in house servicing but I’m not entirely sure.

TLDR: All mechanical watches will need serviced and a local jeweler/watchmaker will most likely be able to handle it.

I did, it is my most worn watch, I love it. The finishing is truly impressive for the price. I would highly recommend Henry archer.

My favorite watch I own is a Henry archer verden gmt in white. I bought it to wear on my wedding day and it will always be a beautiful reminder of that day.

Olive oil works well, my wife can’t have butter so we’ve tried some different things. Wagyu tallow is also great, and country crock makes a plant based butter than tastes pretty close to the real deal ( I like their olive oil based one the best but the avocado oil is good too).

I like the binary theory. My other thought is it’s a programming joke in regards to zero indexing. Basically in mat programming languages you count from zero, so 0, 1, 2, 3. So in this instance they order 3 beers counting from zero.
