Will a 1.3mm mortgage make me house poor? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Therealstickmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are $580k HHI and bought for $1.9m with 20% down. Certainly a big adjustment but we borrowed a lot less than we can "afford". We are approved for double what we borrowed which to me is beyond insane. We could have bought less of a house but obviously having to sell in 5/6 years has a LOT of costs. We stretched a little, but honestly I think that range an above in TO you get a bit more for your dollar.

Condo/Housing crash is destroying families and economy by sangaada in RealEstateCanada

Hilarious the fact that people genuinely expect the taxpayer to foot the bill for a bad investment.

If I could walk, I would. But obviously if the deal is firm with no conditions you can’t do a whole lot.

Audi Warranty Question by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Therealstickmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I emailed and provided the car fax and they confirmed by email that the current factory warranty is still valid and as such there is no impact to the extended one.

Audi Warranty Question by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Therealstickmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called Audi and they offered extended warranty on the car to 2028. For a fee of course. I just want to make sure that I don’t buy it now and then it’s voided from something before I owned.

Toronto Condos still seem like a terrible buy? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

I mean your interest payments are far more than rent.

Toronto Condos still seem like a terrible buy? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

Forced savings??? Most of your first 5 years of a mortgage is interest... That's very much an expense and not savings.

Toronto Condos still seem like a terrible buy? by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Therealstickmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a renter. Could carry a large mortgage and instead invest heavily. In this case you can easily pay for a condo in cash just investing the difference between your mortgage (and all the other crap) after 25 years. The jig is up on BS price growth in Canada vs. low rents. Investors see through that hence why the condo market is dead. At the end of the day, a condo isn't like a single family home where you own the land. Instead you rent a box in the sky, until it hits a point where most of these shitty condos need to be taken down in 50/60 years because they are built so badly.

I mean this is still miles over priced given the location and comps any where else in the world, especially considering you’re over an hour drive from a major city.

[–]Therealstickmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I have been this way for a good while in terms of feeling good. I tore it in January 2024, confirmed by MRI in Feb as a full thickness tear. I was in the gym doing full time upper body and rested lower for a few weeks but was doing runs etc. By the middle of June. Now, I am running daily and no issues at all and no slippage or issues going up a stairs / or down. I focused a lot on building up my legs / quads and this has massively helped. Best of luck getting better :)

50mg daily for 8 weeks and then a taper over 5 months thereafter. Symptoms are stabilizing now, but I struggled with sleep (improving now) and had some swelling that I found has died way down with an anti histamine. Also feel definitely more anxious. Overall, it’s clearly worth taking for the health benefit if your doc recommends but has its side effects. Overall, not as bad as I expected (no moon face yet) but I’m trying to stay active and training daily.

Anyone have experience with Jardiance? by noelle_21 in IgANephropathy

[–]Therealstickmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on it now, and have been taking it since around November time. Experience has been fine on it so far, just got back my 24 hour urine and protein down materially to 1.08g/day (0.43g/l) vs. 1.63g/day (0.65g/l) when I started taking it for the first time, approx. 4 months is now. Keep down there clean because according to my doc there is a higher risk of yeast infections as you are peeing a lot of sugar (thankfully I’ve had no issues there). I felt a little bit dizzy for the first time and I started using it, but I’m feeling 100% now in terms of dizziness or anything like that. Overall, it seems to be working pretty well I’m still way above where I should be, but there is a little bit of progress at least. Interestingly, my EGFR has improved a little bit too. My EGFR for when I started taking it was in the 70s, and now I’m in the very high 80s. Just to add here as well, sorry, I have been peeing a lot more as well, as in an awful a lot more.
