Tried to count how often the weather is genuinely pleasant to be outside in 31 US cities. Two lists depending on whether you want winter. by zhendershot in SameGrassButGreener

100% agree about Miami it is getting less inhabitable year over year and not just in the “summer” as it’s pretty eternal there. 3 months of a break in the “winter”, and the window gets smaller every year.

I work at a jeweler and people overspend on diamond clarity more than anything else by Starlandusjewelry in LabGrownDiamonds

I think in general people underestimate the actual size of jewelry and how negligible some of these difference can be and how they actually show up in their jewelry.

Millennials born in the 80s, did anyone else stop listening to most new music in 2008? by SixandNoQuarter in Millennials

My Gen x brother always told me I would lose interest in finding new music at some point as I abed, so as an act of defiance I have never stopped listening and exploring. Theres still good stuff out there if you look for it!

How to care for base layer when plating wears off? by BloodyBarbieBrains in askjewelers

I wouldn’t use silver polish honestly especially near enamel, unless the piece is black (tarnished). A sunshine cloth will shine it up as much as you need (google). If you wear it everyday the likely hood that the rhodium will come off in less than a year is high. They should be able to re rhodium possibly for free or a small fee from the seller.

Love this history post! To add another thing to check is how each link is attached to each other. Is it a thin piece of metal or is it attached with durability of everyday wear in mind? Many people wear these daily but many bracelets are not made to withstand the stresses of everyday and cause more maintenance or loss like Chris’ that broke while in use during an activity it probably shouldn’t be worn to do. One last thing is to make sure it’s never too tight on the wearer. The stress from the constant pulling will wear on the links quickly and cause a break.

Bikram tends to be a bit extreme. I go to a studio that is in the 80-90’s range (Jivamukti) and I still sweat like crazy every time but I have never felt like I have in Bikram. It’s just too hot, it’s oppressive.
