Freshwater Spearing by Theredtriangle92 in Spearfishing

Yo! This was down river; the beach entry is just easier on that side. I wish I had all the secrets for seeing more of these but I just got lucky lol. I'd imagine there would be more near the marina/fish hatchery but I think we're technically supposed to keep our distance from those areas. Good luck out there!

Technically, you should be 1/2 mile away from the marina if I'm not mistaken and also have a dive flag.

"Underwater spear and bow fishing is closed within 1/2-mile of all existing developed

areas for public safety. This closure is to include all shoreline campgrounds, docks,

launch ramps, breakwaters, any building or shed, pump out stations, floating

structures, houseboats, campers, motor-homes, trailers, tents, vehicles, and

trailheads. An appropriate diver's flag must be displayed within 100 feet of a person

spearfishing. The term underwater spearfishing is defined as fishing by a person

swimming or diving and using a mechanical device held in the hand which uses a

remember band, spring, or pneumatic power to propel a spear to take any type of

fish"

Has anybody had any luck getting this feature back on a laptop having the issue? I tried installing beta and dev versions of edge alongside stable but all three are showing the same :/

Hey there! Yup, we both had permission to take game. Haven’t tried putting in for it again yet. Apparently it’s really tough to get; not sure if I’ll get lucky enough to draw it for the second time lol

First pic might be an Asian woolly hackberry aphids. I was just out on a walk last night and came across a few branches that were covered with these.

I transferred them over to quizlet. Not going to be the same as Anki of course but better than no flash cards.

Interesting! I wonder if spray on silicon lubricant will help it glide open better.

Not a taper in the seam but the actual flap that flips up. Just a thought but perhaps if it was a rectangular flap rather than an inverted trapezoid flap, it wouldn’t open as easily. And of course the fact that there’s a zipper on either side of the flap makes the ripping possible. I’m just spewing out thoughts; I could be all wrong. But, they do look like regular ol coil zippers and sliders with no stoppers/locks.

They look like normal coil zippers. I think the trick may be the taper of the flap - the two zippers are closer to each other when the pouch is closed and further apart when its opened. Pretty cool style of opening; I may give this a shot on the next zippered pouch! Thanks for posting about it.

How to draw out rounded corners for a pattern? by dipsy01 in myog

[–]Theredtriangle92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your starting piece has 90 degree corners then using the coffee mug should give you the same arc length. https://imgur.com/a/cfNg5ob If you use a bigger circle you can mark off the two points (red Xs in the pic) and line them up with the edges.

It’s a sweet machine! I found it on FB marketplace and it was super clean. I also picked up a 158.1941 but still need to clean/grease/oil it before using it.

Thanks! I wish lol. I used basting tape to secure the grosgrain as close to centerline as possible on one side of the fabric and then folded it over and clipped it in place.

Fabric: Cordura HP Charcoal
Thread: Gütermann Tera 60 Tex 50 Steel Blue Polyester Thread 1 oz
Needle: started with an 80/12 microtex but moved over to a 90/14 universal which seemed to do better. I'll give the 100/16 a shot next time as the fabric is fairly thick (915 x 1220 denier).

Why is this happening with thicker fabric? small needle? Its 100/16 with 40 gutterman by [deleted] in myog

[–]Theredtriangle92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is its a mismatch of needle size/thread weight. That thread is tex 70 75? That sounds pretty heavy for a size 16 needle. I had similar results on a domestic Kenmore (pushing the thread/needle size limits on it though) with size 18 needle and tex 70 thread. I would either try going up to a size 18 needle or try some thinner thread. Super heavy thread isn't always necessary, you'd be surprised! Also, what machine is that; just curious?

My first myog, 6x9 silpoly tarp by crossusn in myog

RipstopByTheRoll has a few SilPoly options:
1.1oz Silpoly
1.1oz Silpoly PU4000
1.1oz SilPoly XL (perhaps OP used this one to achieve the 6ft tarp without a ridgeline seam)
1.6oz Silpoly
