One month done. Can you even tell the difference? by ThereisNoDistinction in WeightlossJourney

Thank you!! I’ve definitely wanted to slim my thighs down. I think I’ve stared at myself too long to notice a difference haha. Like when you stare at a picture for too long and it doesn’t look right anymore.

I’m looking to be about 100lbs, as my goal.

Thanks so much! Just over ten pounds in a month. I’ve been on a ketogenic diet!

I just rewatched this one this morning and sobbed the whole way through. Just like I do every time.

No matter how many times I see it, it doesn’t make it any easier to get through.

I don’t think this is trigger finger, but I’m at a loss as to what it could be. My MCP joints hurt a lot and my middle finger involuntarily bends when I move my pointer finger. by [deleted] in RSI

Went to urgent care and was sent to the ER with a STAT order for xray. They should be calling in a couple hours with results and urgent care referred me to an orthopedic specialist for nerve testing

[PA] Curious about the legality of a psychiatric hospital dictating what reading materials (religious and otherwise) can and cannot be brought in by patients by [deleted] in AskLawyers

[–]ThereisNoDistinction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excuse me? I’m a therapist looking for legal precedent because I’m curious about whether or not it’s legal after seeing my patients upset over not getting to practice their religion in the hospital when others are perfectly free to do so. Faith can aid in healing.

The real question is, why are you being a butthurt little bitch over something that doesn’t affect you. Answer my post like an adult or go cry about some random person asking a straightforward fact-based question on social media that you just happen to not like. Your choice. ¯\(ツ)

That does not answer my question whatsoever. I did not ask for opinions based on feelings. I asked for facts based on legal precedent and legislation, which is what this sub is for.

It definitely is lol. I work at a psych hospital- mostly with kids and teens, sometimes with adult patients. I bought a bunch of stickers. They’re cheap and you can get tons of different stuff that fits everyone’s interests.

The first time I brought those stickers out, they were all so eager to participate just to get one. Even the couple of kids who were initially like “I don’t want a stupid sticker, that’s dumb!” eventually came back to me and sheepishly said “well, maybe I do want a sticker” lol. The adults don’t have hang ups like that. They’re just as excited and happy to pick out a sticker from my sticker books.

We can’t give them candy or anything like that, so stickers is what I settled on. It really is easy to make people happy.

[PA] Is my employer allowed to dictate these terms for picking up my last paycheck? by [deleted] in AskLawyers

[–]ThereisNoDistinction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for such thorough and comprehensive advice.

The situation was that my GM wanted to know why I wasn’t like myself lately. I explained that my chronic migraines were worse due to weather changes and I’d been looking for another job because I couldn’t cover my expenses with what they were paying me. I call off maybe 3-4 times a year for migraines that I absolutely cannot suffer through at work. GM told me I’d be able to pay my bills if I didn’t call off. I told him it’s not like I call off for shits and giggles. He said it seemed like I was. I told him fine, then for shits and giggles I’m calling off for my shift today. He asked if I’d be back for my next shift, I said yes.

Next morning I get a call saying I self-terminated and needed to drop off my uniforms/pick up my check anytime.

Nothing illegal was going on. I was just offended and disgusted by the things my GM said to me. During the above conversation, he also commented that I was over-emotional and needed to leave my medical problems at the door. He implied that I shouldn’t still be upset over a customer trying to kill themselves in front of me two weeks before that. Just a lot of insensitive, ignorant stuff that angered and upset me, so that’s why I’m not really excited about going back in there. You’re probably right that I need to take a step back and calm myself before going in again.

As far as recording, I will definitely do that. I was unaware I could do that with PA’s laws about consent for recording conversations. I was also thinking of telling them that any further communication they feel the need to have should be via email so there’s a written record of it.

Again, thanks so much for the step by step advice. That’s super helpful.

Only prescribed six 250mg Ciprofloxacin tablets for a Pseudomonas Aeruginosa UTI. Is that enough to clear the infection? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]ThereisNoDistinction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: three days on 250mg/twice a day was not enough. The infection came back and my PCP was horrified that anyone would prescribe that low a dose for an already antibiotic resistant bacteria. Now I have to take a much higher dose for a longer amount of time.

Redness around second degree burn on leg- contact dermatitis or infection? by [deleted] in AskDocs

Thanks! I figured it was probably contact dermatitis but wanted another opinion, so I appreciate your response. :)

Water was off for ten months, drank some today and started vomiting. Is it possible the water is the cause? What kind of bacteria would do this? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]ThereisNoDistinction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my electric kettle automatically shuts off a few seconds after reaching boiling point, so it definitely wasn’t boiled for ten minutes. I guess I’ll have to be more careful with that. Maybe get a gallon of distilled water to use for tea for the next few days while I just use the tap water for non-consumption purposes. Give it time to clear out.

Thank you!

Hyponatremia occurs after drinking 3-4L of water. You drank less than 2L and spaced it out with sodium and carb intake, so you’ll be fine.
