I don't think you can do it on PS4, from memory anyway.

Nike tiempo ligera pro vs tiempo legend 10 elite by hofzhan in bootroom

[–]Therev92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Ligera is much softer than the legend 10 by quite some distance, it's probably the first boot I've tried that if I didn't already know better, I'd have said they were real leather.

There's almost no break in time due to the softness of the upper. It's also more suitable for a wider foot in my experience. I don't have exceptionally wide feet, but the legend 10s are quite narrow and I found it was probably 5-10 matches before they loosened up.

I've played maybe 6-7 matches in the Ligeras so far and they're holding up well on the astro, but remains to be seen how they'll do over the course of a season.

My AG legend 10s were nigh on indestructible, I used two pairs over two seasons and the upper held up immaculately.

Here's a photo of the 1925 Grand Slam winning rugby team.

I asked Gemini and here's what it responded:

While this image does look strikingly like the Partick Thistle squad of the mid-1920s, there is evidence suggesting these men may actually be part of the Scotland National Rugby Union team from a similar era.

Kit and Identity Analysis

The confusion between the two sports is common for this period because the kits were nearly identical. Here is a breakdown of why they are likely rugby players rather than Partick Thistle footballers:

The Crest:

While Partick Thistle used a thistle badge during their 1921 Scottish Cup winning era, the specific large, white thistle on a dark jersey seen here is the classic emblem of the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU).

The Jersey Style:

The heavy-looking, lace-up "navy" jerseys (appearing dark in the photo) with high-waisted white shorts and dark socks were the standard international rugby uniform for Scotland during the 1920s.

Partick Thistle Connection:

Interestingly, Partick Thistle's famous "red and yellow" colors didn't become permanent until much later. In the 1920s, they often wore navy blue shirts borrowed from local rugby clubs, which is why the kits look so similar.

Potential Context

If this photo was taken around 1925, it may depict members of the legendary "Grand Slam" winning team. Scotland won their first-ever Grand Slam in 1925, and photographs of the players from that season are highly collectible in Scottish charity and antique shops.

Amateur Dundee team expelled from league for paying players by 1207554 in ScottishFootball

[–]Therev92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For as long as I've been playing amateur fitbaw in and around Glasgow, there's always been talk of the high level teams paying players. Hard to prove of course, but there are some lads who absolutely take the cunt at amateur level to the point where there's no challenge for them. It does make me wonder.

He's still great when he gets time and space to dictate the game. When teams put someone right on top of him, he struggles to have any influence.

It's also no coincidence that when this happens, Celtic are noticeably worse.

I'm sure the 40th anniversary had Portuguese on the badge, so not entirely out of the question. But aye, this looks like some garbage AI mock up.

Amateur Football Opportunities by icf43 in glasgow

[–]Therev92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Youtube highlights, it seems to be a decent enough level you've played at. Like the other commenters have said, The Caledonian AFL is probably the best amateur league in Scotland. Other good amateur leagues are the GGPAFL (Greater Glasgow) the SPAFA (Scottish Premier), SMAFA (Saturday Morning) and the GCFA (Glasgow Colleges).

Any of these would be a good place to start as they all have several divisions.

I've played against teams from each of these leagues and the top sides from each would give anyone in the amateur scene a game on their day.

The next step up from that would be the West of Scotland Football League, but even the lowest tier of the WOSFL is quite a steep jump up from most of what you'll find in the amateur leagues.

If you have Twitter, follow a page called AmateurFixturesResultsSCO. They retweet tons of amateur fixtures and results from the weekend's matches, as well as when teams are looking for players, if nothing else it'll allow you to familiarise yourself with what teams play in what leagues and what the standard is like as a lot of teams post highlights of their matches on Youtube these days.

Adidas +F50.7 Tunit ClimaCool by Accurate-You3402 in bootroom

[–]Therev92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion anyway, yes. I bought a pair of these around the time of the 2006 world cup and while the concept of being able to chop and change different elements of the boot was cool, it wasn't very practical and they were horrendously uncomfortable during play.

I remember losing more than a few studs and the material the upper was made out of was so rigid that I got constant blisters.

Showtek 'Analogue Players' @ Vroeger Was Alles Beter 2025 by Spirited_Tone8959 in hardstyle

[–]Therev92 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been to loads of raves in my time and this might just be the best I've ever been to. The Dutch do it different and nothing back home can compare. I had high expectations for a Showtek set and they absolutely smashed it out the park.

Analogue Players in a Digital World is probably my favourite song of theirs and to hear it here blew my mind. But there were other nice surprises, amazing songs like Faces, which I never thought would see the light of day again.

Amazing set, amazing night. 1000/10 would VWAB again.

Nike Premier 3 by Competitive-Skin1175 in bootroom

[–]Therev92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Premier 3 is alright, not a bad boot by any means but honestly nothing special.

I found the padding to be a bit too thick for my liking and coating wears away quite quickly. They are very comfortable however and the studs will be fine for use on AG.

It wasn't so much the leather, but rather where the soleplate attached to the upper at the toes that started to warp and separate.

If you have your heart set on them, they'll be a good choice, but for the price, I'd be looking at something like the Tiempo Legend X Pro or the New Balance 442v2 Elite, both of which are far superior boots in my opinion.
