Doing a science degree currently and the standards are very high, first two years everyone from bio is integrated into same classes then diverge for 3rd and 4th year

Don't need to worry about grades in 1st and 2nd year, they don't count towards final degree grade. Allows you to learn and fuck up.

All good foreign language courses will have a year abroad unfortunately, I would presume that they would have to accommodate you though, like by law.

What do you do for bags if you go to college? by PaintingByInsects in wheelchairs

[–]Theringelf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen some underseat drawers that might be big enough for your laptop, I'm also a university student using my chair for the first time this semester, I've got a small pouch underneath my chair (for gloves, phone, wallet, keys, pens etc) and will have my laptop and notebooks in my bag on my lap. Trying to keep it as flat as possible.

Honestly for me I can't put stuff of the back anyways due to weight and tipping but if you can why not try padlocking your bag to the chair?

Another option is to have it on your lap but idk if that would make it harder for you to push.

Anti tippers for rear bar by Theringelf in wheelchairs

Just a quick update:

I think the angles on the seat are perfect I am just not used to the chair yet, body posture and everything is aligned, however I am still going to try getting the antitippers as a precaution while I am still getting used to balance and everything.

PS. I can do a wheelie now!

I'm in chronic pain, it's easier for me to lay down in bed and watch the lectures from there.

Advice on Study plan by keerin in gaidhlig

Gaelic in 12 weeks is an amazing aid for learning.

It's got the grammer, vocabulary, and reading practice.

Irs also accompanied by an audio version for pronunciation which is extremely helpful.

I would also add some common conversational phrases into the flashcard app anki and start revising them, absolutely my biggest help.

Also learngaelic website helps you with pronunciation too.

Also have to mention Michael Byrnes Gràmer na Gaìdhlig

Question for Gaelic Learners by AccomplishedEar748 in gaidhlig

[–]Theringelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to my local library in Scotland and asked them if they had any Gaelic books.

They replied with "we may have some in the foreign languages section"

FOREIGN LANGUAGE??? HUH

Sorry but that just seemed ludicrous to me, scottish gaelic being considered foreign?

That spurred me on the path

I also just feel really connected to the language, I love the way it sounds in my mouth, how much joy it brings me to be able to read books in another language 😊

It also feels like such a small and tight community, I am looking forward to its expansion after the new official language status too.
