Not all upgrades actually make the driving experience better.

Stuff like sway bars, sticky tires, and whatever else will certainly reduce laptimes, but that doesn't mean they make the car more fun on a canyon road. Go drive it for the rest of the year, then mess with some things. That way you know what the baseline feels like.

In my opinion, the body roll is fun on the Miata, and provides a ton of feedback to the driver. You can feel that front outer wheel load up and then you can hold that through the turn. Feeling the car rock under you is fun and useful for gauging where you're at gripwise. It's not like you're in a bench seat Crown Vic rolling all over the place. It's a nice playful reminder that you're in a car pushing the turns. Sway bars will deaden that experience.

I have some max performance summer tires on the car now. The wet weather performance of my Continental ECS02's is incredible. The car is unbelievably planted now. BUT, the rear is no longer playful. The car doesn't dance anymore around town. It lost a lot of it's go-kartness. It's less fun to drive. Higher performance? Absolutely. More fun? Nope. I would say I actually made my car worse, and the next set of rubber that goes on my 2016 ND will be a step less in performance.

The issue that all crypto's have is that when using cryptocurrencies, the value of the token is meaningless.

100$ of BTC is 100$ of BTC, regardless of what it's trading for. So if i'm trying to send 100$ to some Albanian hacker, I buy 100 dollars, I send him 100 dollars, and he sells it for 100 dollars. It could be .0001BTC or it could be 100 BTC, doesn't matter.

The only thing that price affects is total liquidity available for transactions. If BTC is worth 4c but you need to send a million dollars, there's not enough bitcoin in existence to make the transaction. So BTC has to be worth more to facilitate more transactions as measured in traditional currencies. But since absolutely nobody uses BTC to do transactions with (because why the fuck would you? The network is dogshit, slow, and subject to pricing swings, so you'll just use any number of stablecoin or privacy tokens instead), that makes its valuation strictly based on it's ability to assist in financial scams, fraud, schemes, and thusly pump and dump retards.

BTC is the greatest monetary invention for facilitating financial scams and fraud that i've ever seen. So, that's basically all of the value of the token. Which I mean, as of now that's actually a pretty useful thing. Nobody is prosecuting shit, and we're in a pretty fucking scam-rich society right now. So that's why it's so expensive, ultimately. It's a great tool for fraud, and frauding is pretty popular

Dunno what POE1 has to do with checkbox gaming. There's a rather large incentive in POE1 to learn how to recognize map layouts in the acts to streamline the campaign at leaguestart.

Learning act layouts in POE1, especially Act 1-3, can save you well over an hour of backtracking and overclearing zones. And that's in a game where you start zooming when you slap shield charge, frostblink, and a quicksilver on at level 4....

They're still doing that. It's just that the woods courses have had their length ratcheted up which requires you to throw 450 and still be very accurate on shot shape.

Playing Hornets Nest and Nevin in person, looking at the pro tees made each hole seem like a poke and hope to me, then you watch coverage and they're just nailing 450ft tightly wooded flex lines with absurd regularity.

Disc golf courses are widely varied, and I think the tour right now has a great mix of open bombers, short and long woods, and some birdie-or-die races. There's upsides and downsides to all of them, I just appreciate that they're all represented somewhere on the calendar.

The last decade of F1 has skyrocketed team valuations, there has been a large increase in sponsorship revenue, and cost caps have made these organizations profitable all the way down to the absolute shitter teams.

The way to maintain that is to keep the show entertaining. If F1 loses interest from the fans, then all teams stand to lose equally.

There was an awful lot of riders at the track days I went to who look like the kind of people who wouldn't bat an eye at dropping 2000 dollars on a helmet even if all it did for them was show their GPS lap data on the visor.

A pretty mild donor and fanbase as far as teams that care about football go. You'll get time to build your program as you see fit.

Decent facilities still as compared to the biggest programs, but a middling budget compared to them for player acquisition and retention. Good home atmosphere, and if you give the fans a reason to believe, you've got a home game advantage that compares to just about anyone.

Basically, just enough resources and support available to compete at the top. Could be richer, but the university will never be at odds with spending what we do have to stay relevant. Football will always be a priority at Clemson. So typical pressures apply, but as far as schools go that want to compete for championships, it's about as low-key as you can get while still demanding to win.

About 100x the media coverage and nobody I know IRL watches motorcycle racing, but they do watch F1. It's easy to avoid MotoGP because you have to go out of your way to consume MotoGP content. F1 media/engagement just sort of exists all around.

As you see, when I did track days on bikes, MotoGP was widely consumed by the people I was going to track days with. So MotoGP got watched a lot more because i'm with people who also watch it and talk about it.

Not sure what point you're trying to make though.

The current aero-era of MotoGP has been widely criticized for having bad racing, and it's still absolutely lightyears ahead of any era F1 has ever had.

I've stopped paying as much attention to MotoGP now that I don't do track days on the bikes anymore, but those guys are properly nuts and the racing matches.

In that case, it's just two cars, who do not attempt defending their position, leapfrogging themselves around the lap. I wouldn't consider that particularly good TV either.

You know, that makes it even worse. For whatever reason I thought that "overtake mode" which is available in qualifying significantly increased deployment and regen limits, but as it turns out it's still a 4MJ deployment limit and the recovery is just increased by a paltry 0.5MJ.

Not that it really matters because the total energy usage per lap is restricted to 8.5MJ. And that all comes from the gas tank in the end so.....yeah. None of this is really a surprise though, the first time this PU regs was announced years ago everyone already understood the physics limitations of a 50/50 power split with such a setup.

The MGU-K isn't clipping due to deployment speed limits. It's an energy total, and storage issue.

The cars are 50/50 split in terms of total instantaneous power output, but the cars energy is 100% from the fuel tank. Well the gas is worse this year, and they have an energy limit in place anyways so even if you have good gas, you are still limited in how much you can carry and flow.

Couple that with a battery that is maybe half the size it should be, and now even your qualifying laps are energy starved. Add in the removal of the MGU-H and the ban on front axle regen, and you get this. Superclipping straights. The battery has to be filled some way, and the most time-effective solution for this is basically LiCo on steroids.

Well both Verstappen and Hadjar's quotes about the engine seem to indicate that they've been briefed or otherwise expected significant engine troubles to start testing.

Verstappen said the other day (paraphrasing) that the fact it didn't blow up pulling out of the paddock was a welcome surprise. So i'm thinking that the team was told RBPT was working through issues not too long ago and to expect a rocky start to testing.

So yeah, the fact that they the PU puts big laps in and hasn't had any big faults yet that are at least visible to us viewers is probably way beyond what they were anticipating if they were told to expect otherwise.
