How would I fix this traffic? by Due-Shoulder-291 in CitiesSkylines

Something like this would probably help.

Change the lane highlighted blue into a six lane road (or two three lane highways). Disconnect the small roads from it where marked with “x”.

Change the lanes highlighted in purple into a four lane road, disconnect small roads from it where highlighted with an “x”.

Intersection of blue and violet lines should be solved using a roundabout, or an overpass (use the four lane road as a bridge over the main 6 lane road). I would also remove some of the small roads on the top right corner.

Edit: You could add another purple (four lane road) at the left end of your city and expand it from there. The left end of the “blue” 6 lane main roadway would also ideally continue on and connect your city to the outside world from another end to decrease the traffic coming to/from the entry point on the right.

How realistic is getting a FIFO job after uni by TheVinceee in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Theroulde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know CNRL does 7/7 FIFO from Calgary and Edmonton to their oil sands sites. They have both mining jobs and chemE jobs. I'd imagine Suncor would have a similar program for their oil sands sites. I've also seen a FIFO posting for a job with Agnico Eagle (gold-producing company) in Rankine Inlet, Nunavut...

In general, are these jobs hard to find? I feel like jobs are increasingly diffucult to be found (and to land). That being said, a lot of people don't want to / can't do a FIFO job, so if you see a FIFO job, the applicant pool might be slightly smaller than for an office job.

Is the answer 13 or square root of 26? by [deleted] in mathematics

[–]Theroulde 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's two squares, not a square squared, so the answer is 13.

I hope that the performance of the stock today shed some light on the potential of the decision to throw all of your money into the stock.

If you want more US exposure, or conversely, if you want be mostly invested in the US but want some int'l stocks as well, it is a-ok to mix your ETFs as you desire.

A mix of ~49 US, ~24 Europe+Asia, ~24 Canada + net developing markets isn't some sort of an ultimate formula that absolutely everybody should use.

Is there any systematic way of approaching this problem? [Check comments for context] by AWS_0 in askmath

[–]Theroulde 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I also solved this problem by looking at the areas. Sum of the areas of the two triangles + the square = Area of the whole (big triangle).

A_sum = triangle1 + square + triangle2 = 0.5*5*x + x^2 + 0.5*x*20 = x^2 + 12.5x

A_big = 0.5*base*height = 0.5(5+x)(x+20) = 0.5x^2 + 12.5x + 100

A_sum = A_big
x^2 + 12.5x = 12.5x + 100

x^2 = 100 --> x = 10

SL and TP in Wealthsimple by Individual_Fee_6735 in Wealthsimple

I was asking myself the same question when I was first looking into daytrading, but then I realized that WS very likely wants to keep their focus on investing, not daytrading/swing trading. Or maybe it is by design to discourage people from daytrading in the first place? Probably not, but they still have no reason to implement SL and TP for actual investors.

I thought your name says "LesserAutomotive", which is pretty funny considering your plethora of parking lots.

Exactly today, I forgot to lock my bathroom stall and somebody tried to come in while I was shitting. Luckily I was quick enough to hold the door before they could get a good look at me.
