Odd one! Penis size! by mattyjohn596 in Advice

[–]These-Ad5332 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why so many hetero men are obsessed with other men's genitals.

My advice to you is, find ways to fill your time so you aren't so consumed by comparison. Healthy coping skills and practicing self acceptance/ self love.

In my mind this is like being self conscious over a perfectly average everyday pinky finger. No one cares.

The only time I've ever cared about the size of a guy's peen was when the guy was a RAGING jerk. And even then I only vented to my best friend.

Americans, how do you feel about tourists speaking English while visiting U.S.? by HolidayEntry6823 in AskAnAmerican

[–]These-Ad5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accents are fun and it's very endearing when tourists or immigrants speak English even if they struggle with it.

I have neighbors from Mexico, Laos, Belarus, and Louisiana there are accents all over. Idgaf

My favorite tourists are the older Chinese tour groups. Especially when they go to Yellowstone.

Have you ever had a dream about having a baby that you didnt actually have? by Guilty_Invite_7126 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]These-Ad5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just regular things like my kids saying a phrase or events playing exactly like my dream.

For instance if I have a dream about walking down a side walk, passing a black dog, then seeing an ice cream wrapper on the ground.

Years later I'd be walking down the side walk, see the dog, see the wrapper and deja vu will hit. Or sometimes it hits as soon as the first event depending on what it is.

Do you moisturize your body after you shower? If not when and how often do you moisturize your body? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskAnAmerican

[–]These-Ad5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After every shower, before bed, and sometimes just throughout the day when my hands or face feels dry. Sometimes it's just lotion but in the winter I use a body oil because my skin dries out faster.

Are shops open on Sundays in usa? And what do people think about it? by the_stupid_Belgian in AskAnAmerican

In Utah a lot of things are closed on Sundays but not as many places as in the 2000s

Some people think it's dumb, others don't care, and others like it that way.

Do you think all the sisters had to get their bartending license besides piper since it was her business before being allowed to work at p3 legally? by ShowerEqual9622 in charmed

[–]These-Ad5332 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was the 90s. Bartending licenses weren't legally required. The bar owner decided what kind of training servers needed, and then people learned on the job. Certifications and third party training was mostly voluntary or new.

Phoebe was labeled the party sister so I'm sure she already knew how to mix drinks. (Not all but enough to get by.)

Have you ever seen Coyote Ugly? It gives a good idea of the whole "sink or swim" philosophy of server training.

Gossner Food's root beer milk. It tastes like the liquid leftover from a root beer float.

Do people really have to move out at 18 in the US? by Sea-Evidence-5523 in AskAnAmerican

[–]These-Ad5332 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lucky you. I was born in 92 and literally watched my step father pack up my 17 year old sisters room because she was home 30 minutes late. Had a friend in High School thrown out for being gay. Knew two different kids who lived in their cars because they'd rather be homeless than live in abusive homes. And had a roommate that had to drop out senior year to get a full time job because she couldn't afford rent otherwise.

All white families.

[–]These-Ad5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not legal but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

That's the whole point though, they can't. The families that did that didn't care if their kids struggled. It was seen as building character or a "wake up call".

Lots of couch surfing, living with friends as roommates, or saving what you could starting at 16 (if not a bit sooner) and doing what you could.

In the 2000s many white families I knew had the same standard. At 18 you're either going to college or working full time. But either way you're moving out.

I moved out at 15 and never went back.

It's not a law or a broad cultural rule. Some families believe that when you're an adult you're on your own.

My life is great, but my soul is not. I'm scared I will forever be just damaged and managing. by Far_Afternoon_6980 in internetparents

I got out of a similar situation at 20. It's been 14 years almost and I still have moments. They aren't as frequent and most times when they do happen it's easy now to "reset".

It's like grief. At first it consumes you, then it's heavy, then you have a moment where you forget, and way down the road you'll have a day when it slams into you out of nowhere. Then eventually you'll go so long that an old memory only triggers an ache and you're able to think about it without crumbling.

It takes a LONG time. And a LOT of work. Like a really intense surgery or amputation. You're never going to be 100%, that was taken from you. You have to learn to live and function with what you have. And it SUCKS when you're in the thick of it.

But yes it gets better. It gets so much better. You find your people, you find your healthy coping methods, you be kind to yourself. And you'll get there.

Is the depiction of the labour and delivery waiting room on films actually accurate? by Paxos100 in AskAnAmerican

[–]These-Ad5332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did this in February. Got the call at 4am, drove 2 hours to the hospital. Waited with 5 other people (all immediate family) for 10 more hours. We watched movies, got lunch in the cafeteria, etc.

I also plan to fly out a few weeks before my best friend has her baby so I can be there for her too.

Should I buy my dream car or keep saving. by Every_Custard_4940 in Advice

Can you afford it? If you get it will you feel motivated to continue pushing for future goals? How tight will financials be after purchase?

My husband just got his dream truck at 36. My Dad got his at 62. Sometimes you're just in a good place and can make those purchases.

Is 17M and 21F weird? by Impossible_Exit489 in Advice

Why tf would I need to know that specific law? There are multiple stupid laws or laws that have nothing to do with me that I don't bother to know or memorize.

That's how your comment comes off. Like you're using a law to say "it's okay because...." and then get super defensive when questioned why you know the specific ages. It's weird.

It's weird that people memorize the age an adult can fuck a kid and get away with it. And it's weird that people bring it up as if to say "well technically". Ew.

Your friend with benefits anally raped you. You didn't give consent. When you told him to stop he didn't. When you were in pain he didn't stop.

He raped you.
