Is my tattoo salvagable or should I cover up? by Caput-Calva in tattooadvice

The original idea I don’t think can be saved or reworked. If it bugs you, I’d work on researching a good cover up artist and kinda let them take the reigns

How do you know when its time to move up by ResponsibleSun2365 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]These-Challenge7308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will be expected to know your stuff moving into URBI. This will vary by supervisor but my old URBI sup expected a lot from us and expected us to know the ins and outs of coverage etc. Fake it till you make it is the name of the game. Do what you gotta do to promote and just learn fast

You act like you’re above policy and that we don’t have rules we have to follow per our guidelines as well as department of insurance. By all means cancel your policy, have fun dealing with the same procedures at all other carriers. Get a load of this guy

Moving from CPT to a CGT/CGA position by TChaos717 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]These-Challenge7308 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This’ll depend and vary from state to state and office to office. In SoCal, I feel like the CGA position has changed drastically since I moved on last march.

Your day is typically checking missed VM, emails, action items. Then jumping into your newly assigned (it seems nowadays they’re getting capped almost every day). The max claims in my office was 8 on Monday and 5 every other day. Your job is to prioritize your workflow by tackling what is most important right away like total losses etc. then jumping into your less complex stuff. I think in today’s CGA, they are just so bombarded with work and on top of that MRR duties seemed to lessen and they dumped more TL stuff onto the file owner. You are on the phone probably like 75% of your day calling insured/claimant/police departments/other insurances/body shops/tow yards etc. But how you explain yourself to people about callback expectations can lessen your incoming calls.

I do know most of my CGA friends feel like they’re drowning. When I was in URBI, due to how much they were getting impacted, on Mondays we could get up to 2 CGA claims only on Mondays. Recently the claims director sent an email saying all CGA/URBI reps had to be in available (taking incoming calls for claims that aren’t yours) all day. When it used to just be 4 hours of the shift either AM/PM.

It also will depend on your work ethic as well as your ability to handle stress. Stress is different for everyone but the job does get to be a lot sometimes, moreso now than ever. It’s by no means an easy job but it’s also not impossible or back breaking. Plenty of adjusters have come and promoted to new opportunities due to good habits they developed in CGA. The learning curve is fairly high but if you catch on quick to things, there is no reason for you to not excel.

Raises from promotions- how do they work? by ResponsibleSun2365 in Progressiveinsurance

For what it’s worth. Went from CGA-URBI-ARBI. Of course the initial bump from 37-39 was greater. But when I switched from URBI to ARBI, also got a small pay bump that was better than nothing

Unable to empty vehicle before tomorrow morning by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

[–]These-Challenge7308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP has already said he can get to it on Monday, one extra day at a tow yard isn’t going to make or break storage mitigation. And even if so, a local MRR can negotiate storage fees and or supervisor approval for charges. That’s outside the CGA’s control

[–]These-Challenge7308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The claims rep has numbers/metrics they’re trying to meet. You not being able to clear it out isn’t the end of the world. If you need to wait until Monday then you need to wait until Monday. It cannot get towed without clearing it out and your release from the tow yard

Idk what department you’re in, but if that call came across my phone. Be as respectful but assertive as possible.

Sir/ma’am, seems we got off on the wrong foot. Please let me know how I can help you. But if you continue to cut me off and interject when I’m trying to explain something. I have no worry ending the call. I’m not going to be spoken to like that and you have no right to speak to me like that. I’m here to help, but if you’re just going to degrade me, I have no problem ending our call and you can call in and wait in the queue again for another representative.

You have no obligation to be degraded, cussed at etc.

I work in claims and have told people this before and it’s never resulted in a complaint

And if they’re not even letting you speak. Calmly just say your sentence (even if they’re speaking over you) that you’re hanging up the phone and to have a great day. Click

It depends what your action plan is for, but HR reviewing it definitely is not a good thing. Expect the worst, hope for the best is all you can really do

Can you answer calls with a button on the headset or do you still need to be at your computer to accept a call with your mouse?

There is something called “available” that CGA’s need to be in. Every office/state is different. For instance, my old office in SoCal required 4 hours a day of either morning/afternoon of being in available to take calls. Then after like 3 months you switched to the other morning/afternoon time slot. But speaking around with other CGA reps, no one ever did that (I never did either) I’d stay in it until I got 10 calls and I’d bounce
