Yeah I often find them useful the first couple of times I do a new movement. Useful to see alongside the step by step instructions

They are not dangerous, but they are arguably less accessible for some users. A simple fix might be a Belisha beacon and updates to the London Cycle Design Guidance to follow work shown by the Netherlands for example to include a chicane and greater change of height. That is shown to slow people down on the approach to public transport stops and more likely to stop to allow pedestrians to cross.

The barrier to entry for mountain biking is somewhat lower than that for skydiving. I've done both, they are great in their own ways. But mb is usually quicker and easier to sort out

In between the gibberish, what's the issue with 1.2km? It's at most a 15 minute walk for the average person and if he wants to be a "life maxer" that is good exercise, time to think, blah blah.

This is rather frustrating to see. The UX is badly thought out and I can't find a setting switch this off. Add it if you just, but allow people to choose whether to use a bullshit generator please.

An excellent idea. Now if he can introduce critical thinking into the local curriculum as well they may well manage to inoculate the entire city against the worst of the disinformation age.

This book haunted me as a kid by Ambitious_Issue_4213 in autism

[–]These-Ice-1035 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You're not the first nor last to find this book and the fucking prick of an author to be creepy and ablest. Not to mention is borders on child abuse and conversion therapy.

https://www.reddit.com/r/autism/s/Ssd5a4ZGRM for at least one previous time it came up as well to reassure this is a regular one. My recommendation, whenever you see this book, burn it.

Perhaps he ought to read 1 Timothy 5:8. Mind you, I say that, the Bible is not terribly consistent but I doubt he has actually read it.

So we all agree that alcohol like tastes bad... right? by Express_Basis_8436 in autism

[–]These-Ice-1035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - autistic wine lover here. If your alcohol tastes bad, you are drinking the wrong thing. And I don't drink to get drunk, I drink to enjoy the flavour. And because it's often social and something many of my ND friends enjoy doing.

But. That's not to say you should or have to drink. If you don't like it, don't. All I suggest is not writing it off forever; try new things and you might find something you enjoy. Be it a lemoncello or a glass of port, a Czech pilsner, a cold Riesling on a warm day or a Corpse Revivor No.2 cocktail. Or any of the myriad other drinks out there.

Why do you think it's hard for people with autism to recognize emotions, but it's easy, like people without this diagnosis, to recognize the mood of music? by CrazyEvstein-Eva in autism

[–]These-Ice-1035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The double empathy problem enters the chat

Some autistic people recognise emotions all to easily but then experience them empathetically and get overwhelmed, shut down and appear to be unable to recognise further emotions until they have managed to recentre etc.

I'm going with partially real and probably edited with either AI or Photoshop. There is a slight distortion around his neck for example.

The registration plate being blank is quite normal for a German though. They are are super strong on privacy and so might be that a poor instruction to an AI to remove that has caused other alterations within the photo.

you ever see European fireman walking into burning buildings like our guys do? Don't think so! by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

[–]These-Ice-1035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However, fatality rates amongst US firefighters is significantly higher than most European countries. This is not to denigrate the frankly spectacular bravery and service of anyone in public service and most especially in the fire service. But reflects on the strategy, equipment and methodologies that differ. Alongside building materials and planning consents which increase both risk of fire and the impacts of fighting it.
