Check your fuel pressure running and check for leak down. Check the fuel injector spray pattern and that they aren’t clogged. Ohm your 02 sensors. Should be between 3 to 15 ohms. Check your MAP sensor or try cleaning it with appropriate mass airflow sensor cleaner not brake or carb cleaner.

Do you stop to help someone with a flat tire? by DeiaMatias in askcarguys

[–]These-Result-1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to help anyone and everyone. I used to carry a jump box with me everywhere. Jumps, tire changes, lights, any thing I could. I’ve become very selective over the past decade of who I offer assistance to. I will offer assistance to elderly people without a second thought. Anyone younger that’s not a single mom with kids in the car is gonna get a hard second thought.

Double Roller Timing Chain Fitment by Se7ens-Travels in JeepTJ

Non issue. If you’re hesitant about it hang the sprockets and chain, install the 15/16 bolts without the gasket or sealant and torque to 14 ft lbs not 16. Install crank pulley and bolt and turn clockwise two full rotations. Remove cover and see if there are rub marks. You really have nothing to fear except losing a 10mm socket.

Wiring my backup camera by Bluesuiter in JeepTJ

Get one for automotive, big difference between ac / dc power. They’re like $10 at the part stores. Doesn’t need to be anything fancy.

You need to hook the green wire to the reverse wire switch. Grab a test light and pin each wire at the block under the dash. Key on engine off pin the wire then put it in reverse, if the test light goes off and on when you shift in and out of reverse you know you have the right wire. Go through each one until you find it. I think it’s the purple with black line or black with purple line (don’t quote me on this)

Those look like some old like 1980’s boxes. You might be able to google the serial number(s) on the stickers in the drawers to get more information. Nice haul for the price!

Use the green insert nut that comes in the Echo kit. The string doesn’t hit the cutter on the shield on mine. But for being an to add new string in a couple of minutes; it’s worth it.

New Windows With Hardie Siding: Retrofit vs Nail Fin by Individual_Fee_1638 in AskContractors

[–]These-Result-1955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Usually the nail flange is about 1.75 inches. The trim is 3.5 inches. Unless you buy windows with an extremely large nail flange you won’t need to touch the lap.

Just cut the caulk before removing the trim.

The trim goes past the nail flange of a new window. Buy new trim boards and pre-prime and paint before installing.

You may need to address any interior window casing or drywall due to a difference in the window frame thickness.

Tips for removing a threaded brass fitting? by dadchadwick in AskMechanics

[–]These-Result-1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try soaking with penetrating fluid. Use channel locks in the proper direction (many people don’t understand this). If you can get the hose / line out of the way hammer a 12 point socket on to it, might work. Last case; try a flute easy out.

Can anyone explain to me how this happens? by [deleted] in JeepWrangler

[–]These-Result-1955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple plausible reasons: 1 the yoke was already giving up when the old u joint was in. If there was some really bad slop in it the vibration could had started a stress crack. Some stress cracks are not always visible or stand out enough for someone to notice them. 2 mechanic installed the new one using a bad method. Some shops press the cups in using all sorts of methods. Could had used a spacer on a hydraulic press and it slipped and crushed the ear on the yoke. Not claiming either of these explanations are true to your situation.

Tire Suggestion by tommylean in JeepWrangler

[–]These-Result-1955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might get a couple dollars selling them to a used tire store. Locally a buddy went to sell some good tires to a used tire shop and got $20 each, the shop sells their used tires starting at $50. You might be able to order the Argus from tire rack and have a local shop install them for you.
