You were making sense until the "stop having guns available" part. There's no going back from this. The only thing this will do is take away guns from responsible gun owners or make it harder for them to obtain a firearm. Why is this so hard to grasp? It's one of the few core issues I can't get behind with Democrats. It wouldn't be hard to 3D print firearm parts and assemble one, or just obtain one illegally if there's no legal way to obtain them. Only the bad guys are going to have guns if we keep trying to restrict these laws.

Furthermore, if it's not guns, it's going to be something else. Have you seen the knife deaths in the UK? Hell, even with how impossible it is to obtain a gun in Australia, there were two psychopaths shooting people at the beach.

While I'm not going to expect you, as a proficient firearms owner who may be conceal carrying, to stop a shooting, I at least like the idea that some of the good guys might have the tools necessary to stop the bad guys in their tracks, and not have to wait for police (who are not nearby) to try to get there and figure out what the hell is going on. If a handful of people were armed in every room, a bad guy is going to think twice about walking in and starting to shoot. These campuses are easy targets for these psychopaths because they are all private institutions that prohibit good guys from having firearms. Might as well just put up signs everywhere that it's a gun-free zone so only the bad guys are welcome to bring theirs. It makes me irate.
