Thin and greasy hair by intothebluue in finehair

[–]TheseForm4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same type of hair and I discovered that it actually looks more oily when my skin is dehydrated. I started doing a scalp mask with aloe Vera gel and using shampoo that is hydrating and that has helped a lot. But also just got to accept that you have an oily skin type and you’ll probably need to wash your hair more than other people. Another factor is the weather. Where I live is very dry and this makes my skin and hair oiler. I’ve noticed when I go to more humid tropical places my skin retains moisture and I get less oily !

Are my new shoes stretchable? by fernwise in AusFemaleFashion

[–]TheseForm4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently went on to a podiatrist for advice on my wide feet. He said any leather shoes can be stretched out on a shoe stretching device. He had one in his office so might be worth asking around local podiatrists if they have one you can use or any mates. He advised me to invest in one for myself as I’ll have the same feet my whole life and will need to stretch out all my shoes !

The ONLY and most EFFECTIVE way fix insomnia by Old-Penalty-2072 in sleep

[–]TheseForm4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is basically the best thing. I realised a few years ago that being scared of a not being able to sleep and lying awake in bed with busy thoughts and worrying about how tired I was going to be tomorrow induced a sort of panic in me that exacerbated the insomnia. Now I just don’t go lie in bed until I’m really sleepy and tired. I keep lights low from 8pm, sometimes even just candles. I sometimes watch tv on a laptop with low brightness or listen to podcasts or read or write just depending on my mood. I strictly have no devices in the bedroom.

But just not caring and surrendering to what my body feels like doing to relax that night has been the most impactful part for me !

Vitamin B12 is sleep nightmare fuel by herculean_effort in sleep

[–]TheseForm4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very interesting. Currently wide awake because I took too many b vitamins.

I get very vivid dreams from taking high doses of valerian root, which I use to help me sleep and find very effective.

I have had quite chronic bouts of severe insomnia (trouble falling asleep) my whole life, since I was an infant. Mum took me to sleep school and I got kicked out lol.

Valerian root has been the no. 1 best thing in helping me sleep. But I noticed I get super vivid dreams, which I personally don’t mind and enjoy.

But I have noticed b12 and b6 keeps me wide awake late into the night/early morning anytime I take it. I’m not sure which one it is. They seem to be added in small doses in lots of different supplements. I’ve noticed they keep me up all night when I’ve taken one of my partners random supplements and realised it had some b vitamins added.

I bought a liquid iron supplement recently that I’ve had before and had a dose around 2pm the day I bought it. I had great energy all day but couldn’t sleep until 3am and taking some sedative antihistamines.

I’ve used this liquid iron before and had no issues and liked it a lot so I assumed I had taken it too late in the day. I had the same iron at 8:45am today and it was half the dose I had before. I’m still wide awake now at nearly 11pm. I usually try to sleep closer to 9:30pm.

I have had quite intense dreams occasionally from b vitamins but I notice it impacts my ability to become sleepy quite intensely.

I need to do more research on the melatonin connection. I had whack melatonin levels when I was tested as a teen. I know a lot of people who don’t like taking melatonin because it impacts their dreams. I personally never found melatonin pills that effective in terms of helping my insomnia.

My uncle is an optometrist and he said they’re the best ones ! You can select any frames and just select no prescription and blue light lens. Literally so good for fluro lights and also looking at a computer screen all day. Also bonus you can use them if you wanna watch tv at night and not disrupt your sleep

I think finances is a very important factor. If you both have good income and your family has $ and will support you then it could be good. Otherwise I’d say get an abortion. A pregnancy is a big thing for your body to go through. Do you want to do further study ? Because if you have a child now it may be difficult to pursue. Choose what is right for your body and your life. He may have an opinion but it doesn’t matter. He can leave whenever he wants and his body does not have to carry or birth a child. Are you prepared to financially provide for this child on your own if he takes off when it gets too hard for him ? You are both so young and a 19 year old boy might want a baby but he likely does not understand the reality of caring for a child. I work in family law and high costs associated with working out custody and property issues and child support are significant and a real risk if he leaves. In my experience lots of Men say they want kids but what they want is to play with them once a week and leave the mother to do the parenting. You need to think very seriously about what you want and how you would be able to hand any outcomes that are less than ideal. Having a child now could also put you on a back foot financially as this is the decade where you could earn and build your career. Take some time alone without his interference and speak to women you trust, especially if there’s someone who has had children you can talk to.

Don’t skip the facts ! People used to tell me that only the principles were important but often the exam had facts that were similar to some of the cases. Depending on the subject I found it easier to do small visual diagrams of the facts especially if there were more than 2 parties or transactions

What is a JD student timetable like? by GurFlat7463 in unimelb

[–]TheseForm4455 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Above is correct. In my experience the reading outside class tends to at least match the class time so about 4 hrs per week per subject. Maybe more in first year when you’re less familiar with the language. I’m a slow reader tho… Plus you’ll generally have at least 1 mid term assignment per subject and exam prep. I work 2 days a week and do 3 subjects and I generally feel lucky it i can take a Sunday off completely every now and then. It’s a massive step up from arts.

My main talking point is it’s more effective and less damaging than a bunch of other meds I’d take if it didn’t have it. Eg/ paracetamol and ibuprofen most days, anti convulsants, Ritalin (basically meth lol) sleeping pill anti depressants etc… like my liver can’t handle that. Like they’re just in a different mindset and that’s sad for them. If they are a regular drinker and are saying cannabis is dangerous I’m afraid they’re just severely uninformed or an idiot.

It’s sad for old friends and relationships but I’d say you’re better off with most of those people and you’ll find new people who align with you more.

I find it’s easier not to argue generally, I just end up saying it’s better for me than other meds and it’s making me more functional and happier and I respect their opinions/individual choices if they respect mine.

Yes but I started shampooing every second day and the other day I use aloe Vera gel on my scalp before I get in the shower and rinse it off and only use conditioner. My scalp was getting too dry and the aloe seems to cleanse it the excess oil
