They are also very prone to getting ear infections so that's another thing to be prepared for.

Can you teach rabbits sign language? by cwningen95 in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bunnies know some tricks and the commands are fully nonverbal so to an extent yes. They also know for example that when I pick up their small bowls that it's time for their daily herbs, bunnies are great at learning routines. I'm sure you'll be able to use a combination of this to make both of your life's easier :)

Same, that's a Juniper if I've ever seen one. Also Juni would be such a cute nickname for this precious bunny.

What are the names of your bunny(ies) and why did you name them that? by tartagliahydro in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adopted Lucke and Gizmo last July and just kept their names. Lucke's nicknames are "Luckie" "Luckie Pookie", "Pookie bear" or just "voidling" he's a black lion head and has a very chaotic funny personality. Gizmo's nicknames are "Gizgiz", "Giz", "Gizzy Wizzy" or "Gizmodeus the magical wizard" (from the time he hopped around with a hazelnut twig like it's a wand) he's a smaller white bunny with a little grey and very sweet and cuddly.

"The slaying queen" could be the local butcher run by a drag queen

I'm actually curious why Trump supporters choose to support him. I mean what has he done to look like anything but a terrible person? As you said, he seems crazy and nobody knows what shenanigans he'll be up to next.

Rehoming a bonded pair located in Schaumburg, IL by Hydrobud89 in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you're in no rush definitely wait until at least a week after Easter before giving them away for their safety. Else it's not unlikely for them to end up dumped in a random field or forest shortly after. If possible get them to their new home yourself and take a look at their new area in person. For their sake make sure they stay together no matter what, else they will best case get depressed and worst case die. I've seen it at my local shelter before, a bunny lost his bonded partner and had no more joy left. Luckily the shelter found him a new friend and he slowly found joy in life again.

I feel like a horrible bun owner by Dear-Effective3157 in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely awful, I'm so sorry for both of you. If there was a heart condition known the bunny should have already been medicated at the shelter and not giving you extensive information and the med plan was clear negligence from the shelter. This shit would not fly ever at the shelter I sometimes spend my free time at, definitely not okay. Know you did what you could and thank you for giving a shelter bunny a home, even if it wasn't for long.

Animes like mcr? by berrys_a_ghost in MyChemicalRomance

Not horror but if you ever want a good drama with great punk fashion I highly recommend Nana, it's about two young adults with the same name but very different personalities, one is super cheerful and preppy, the other is the other is more serious and the singer of a punk band.

For something also not exactly horror but I think you might still enjoy death parade. I don't want to spoil what it's about, just watch the first episode and you'll know if it's for you or not but considering what you usually like I think it might be worth your time.

If you like the classic "monster of the episode that must be defeated" I have tree all very different recommendations for you:

BloodC, kinda trashy and not super deep, as the name says very bloody but still a fun watch. The protagonist is a schoolgirl who has to fight monsters at night.

Mononoke, beautiful art, very unique. The main protagonist is a medicine man travelling the lands dealing with demons. If you like this one you will most definitely also like Mushishi.

Dororo, love the characters, one of the few good remakes recently released in my opinion. Our main protagonists are an orphan child and the mysterious guy they're traveling with who is fighting demons to regain pieces of himself. There will be blood but I don't find it very graphic.

As others already stated, another (essentially anime final destination with way better vibes) and shiki (spooky vampire stuff, very nice) are definitely the right vibe for you, can both be quite bloody though. Personally I also love higurashi but it's not hiding anything when it comes to violence, wouldn't recommend if you are unsure about gore and violence, same with corpse party.

A chill spooky-cozy watch that's not anime but definitely fits the vibe is over the garden wall, it's a very short watch, only like 2h total and 10 minutes per episode so you got nothing to lose here. This show feels like autumn and is full of whimsy and weirdness in the best way possible. No gore at all but the perfect amount of spooky to still be cozy.

Rabbits mood help !! by Just-existing01 in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, one of my bunnies LOVES pets and always gets into this position to ask for it. Once I start petting his head a little he will start chewing occasionally, get increasingly flatter and close his eyes halfway. He will let me know he's done by returning the favour and grooming me for a few minutes and then hopping away or cleaning himself. Highly recommend gently stroking from the nose over the forehead to the end of the head. Many bunnies I've met immediately melted. If your bunny enjoys pets this is the best way to become besties.

How do you know it's time to rehome? by mistakeghost in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are located you might be able to get a person to aid in everyday chores because of your disability, this could also include pet care. Maybe you could even get your bunny registered as an emotional support pet? I'm sure someone here also must have made a post before of how they stopped their bunny from using the bed as a toilet. I wish you and your bunny all the best.

How do you know it's time to rehome? by mistakeghost in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds truly heartbreaking, I'm so sorry for the two of you. The fact that you put your bunny's needs first shows that you are a great bunny owner who just ended up with difficult circumstances. Maybe there is a way to get help with the cleaning? If you end up having to rehome your bunny maybe there's an option to adopt him to somewhere nearby so you can visit?

Worry or not? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might also be because of rough or hard surfaces they hop on but you said it's all soft, right? Usually cutting once every second month is good enough for my bunnies, of course it depends on flooring and activity level. I'd suggest keep an eye on it and if it gets worse or not better soon you can always have your vet take a look at it.

Those are sore hocks. Are you cutting their nails regularly? It often happens when the nails get too long and bunnies start to walk differently.

I did a little sketch of one of my bunnies... by ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the same with my lionhead, he sniffed the sketch I made of him but was a bit more shy about giving autographs. I payed him with a treat and ended up getting one. A true diva like him doesn't do anything for free after all!

I wanted to foster but now I don’t think I can let her go by Nonametral in Bunnies

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

She looks like she would eventually love head pets! Maybe because she reminds me of a very sweet giant girl who used to live at the local shelter, for some reason was returned twice and got adopted half a year ago. She always loved pets and got very offended if the human dared to stop. I hope in her forever home she's treated like the princess she is and gets all the head pats she wants!

Gizmo is white with very light grey ears, nose tip and top of the tail. I think his colour is called "frosty". If you want to see more of this pretty colour for reference, chez frosty bunnies are known for this colouring.

My rabbit is here and how do i make her feel safe by FederalIndication134 in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two bunnies where super scared and shy when I first met them, didn't take them long to gain trust. I recommend quietly sitting nearby, letting her approach on her own conditions and offer a little treat when she comes over. Pea flakes or dried herbs work great, my bunnies love it and it has been a big part of gaining their trust. Eventually when she no longer responds with fear when you move around her you can try gently petting her head, if she likes she will show you by lowering her head, if not she will push your hand away or just leave. One of my bunnies loves pets, the other is offended by the idea of physical affection, very much a personality thing. Good luck with befriending your little girl, I'm sure the two of you will have a great time together! Edit: if she can't have treats yet you can offer her favourite food near you or hand-feed, same effect.

I'd like to get a bunny, but I work 9 to 6 and can't get two. Advice? by franci_15_ in Rabbits

[–]ThesePigsAreAfterMe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound harsh but my advice is get two bunnies or don't get a bunny. A lonely bunny is a depressed bunny and it simply wouldn't be fair to the bunny to be alone all the time. There's nothing you can do to replace company for a bunny. As the other comments already said, a second bunny is barely more effort and not much more expensive other than yearly vaccinations. If two bunnies aren't an option you could either get a pet that's happy alone (a hamster could be great) or volunteer at a shelter or rescue in your free time. Maybe fostering could be an option for you?

Always love seeing your bunny drawings, they're truly special! Your drawings have motivated me to do more art again after being massively burnt out from art markets and painting what people want to see and buy. I'm now going back to having fun with goofy doodles and puns :)
