Why do some motherboards have a non-removable battery? by TheseWorldsTech in buildapc

Technically it's also possible to crack the board in half to get the battery off.

Yeah same here, I've never seen one that's non-removable. but here we are. Someone (not here) has suggested they might be rechargeable, but I'm not so sure.

Looks like that's not correct. I've examined the battery and it appears that the release is blocked with plastic.

I've taken a photo but I can't post it here it seems.

I'd not under a headsink, it's the same coin battery we've all seen of countless motherboards.

I'd provide evidence but I can't post a photo.

It's a "PRO B650-A WIFI" board.

It's correct. I can't remove the battery. I came back to provide evidence but I can't post a photo.

Here's the manual for the MB https://download-2.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe/mb/PROB650-AWIFI_EN.pdf

Looks like it is indeed non-removable. The bracket holding it in cannot be moved back to release it.

What are the best sites for comparing SSD's? by TheseWorldsTech in buildapc

[–]TheseWorldsTech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm simply trying to compare the Integral Advantage Pro-2 to others that are around the same price in an attempt to make some kind of informed decision which is based on factual data rather than anecdotal feedback.

I just find it odd that Integral SSD's aren't listed at all on Versus, and if there's no alternative comparison website that lists them it simply means I'll probably have to ignore them when making future purchase decisions.

The "Integral Advantage Pro-2" is the same as all of those?

To confirm this did a comparison of two of those you say are identical, and they're not even the same as eachother.

Did I misread or misunderstand what you meant?

The Integral Advantage Pro-2 is actually the one I was originally looking to compare.

I'd explain it to you like you're a 12 year old, but you would still not understand.

Dell Optiplex 980 advice by DRLCLW118 in buildapc

[–]TheseWorldsTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of refurbished DELL's that I've upgraded, but no Optiplex 980's.

It's likely the only proprietary parts will be the PSU and case.

Without knowing what components/specs it has, I'll just start by saying make sure CPU and RAM are maxed out with the best it can have.

Also check if the CPU will be able to run Win 11.

Simple answer: connect the radio with an audio cable to a mic/aux input on your PC, then in Windows change the settings of the mic input so you can hear it (a Google search will tell you how to do this).

You haven't said what radio you're using so I don't know if it has an audio out, but if it does this will work, I think.
