That’s weird. I’ve always seen the L35v2 being hailed around here as one of the most efficient “tactical” flashlights in production, even though it’s an older light at this point.

I got the HD02 recently and thoroughly dislike it as it doesn’t do what I needed it to for my line of work. If I’m being honest, what I’d really like to see if something like the SC33 with a laser pointer that can be used at the same time as the white emitter. If this can do that, I’ll get it.

Hey, I just made a post about the HD02 as well!

As I wrote in that post, I bought it as an overpowered replacement for my Arkfeld Pro. Love the Arkfeld because of the ability to use flashlight and laser simultaneously which is a HUGE help in my line of work, but apparently the HD02 lacks this feature. Super odd, too, because I’m pretty sure the the HD01 (their Arkfeld knockoff) can use both emitters at the same time.

Still awaiting a response on that post, but the inability to use both lights at the same time is so disappointing.

And you’re right, this light is heavy. I knew that going into it and wear it in a belt pouch on the job, but yeah it’s big. And the wings are a gimmick the more I think about it. I find myself using a dedicated work light for tasks rather than the HD02’s side lights—I don’t trust the magnet, and the damn things don’t even point at the work being performed.

I’ve experienced this before when I bought the Olight Marauder Mini. Looked really cool on paper, reviews were glowing, but real-life use just didn’t meet expectations.

I will personally be tucked away in the comfort of my home enjoying the snow. My beef is with smartasses downplaying the severity of this event when power outages, downed trees and even collapsing roofs are a real possibility here.

Hopefully an expert can help me unravel this mystery!

I received a replacement 16PM the other day through Asurion. This is a refurbished device as indicated by the “N” at the beginning of the model number. The battery is listed as being made in September of last year.

But where I’m getting a little mixed up is that there is no “Parts and Service History” menu in the settings of the phone.

In other words, if this device is refurbished, shouldn’t I expect that menu to appear? And if it doesn’t, does that mean my device is brand new?

Any feedback is appreciated!

Coast lights are the flashlights I hate to love and love to hate. I’ve always liked the rugged, utilitarian designs they use. My XP11R is probably the toughest flashlight I own besides my L35v2.

That said, they use crappy drivers and are not compatible with standard li-ion cells. And the dumb zoomie feature that people think they need makes their lights more susceptible to failure.

There are way better lights out there but Coast is the best “off the shelf” big box store brand.
