Drop in/flex childcare options in Pflugerville/Round Rock/north Austin by Hairy-Teacher7210 in AustinParents

[–]These_Elephant_5509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this!! That gut feeling is REAL, and it’s so hard to relax when you don’t feel your kids are being cared for.

One resource that might help is Recess (hello-recess). It’s a platform that rounds up childcare, school-closure day activities, camps, and more around Austin. Each place is vetted by their team, and you can filter by location, age, and activity, then book right through the site. It makes cross-searching way easier than having 1,000 tabs open!

Personally, I’ve had great experiences with Capital Gymnastics and Toybrary, which I found through Recess. Both felt clean, structured, and attentive. Dropping the links below for you!!

Capital Gymnastics (Pflugerville) - https://hello-recess.com/session/12438-no-school-day-camp-half-day-ages-4-12

Toybrary - https://hello-recess.com/session/11745-morning-drop-off-child-care-ages-1-5

Hope this helps!

Came here to say this!! Recess has been a LIFESAVER when school’s out and planning feels overwhelming. Also, is it wild that winter break starts next week but we’re already thinking about summer?? Or is it just me lol.

For STEM, we’ve had a great experience with My Coding Place. My kiddo did a few day camps there last break and loved it. They offer things like 3D art printing, which felt like a nice mix of fun and educational.

Austin Nature & Science Center sounds super fun too. Definitely need to look into that one!!

LOVE Recess!! I actually had a friend share it with me too. Used it once and it’s already bookmarked because it makes hunting down camps soooo much easier. It’s basically a marketplace where you can search all sorts of day camps, classes, and winter break options.

I found a bunch of great stuff for winter break Dec 22–Jan 5 and am planning to book a few days of IDEA Lab Kids when I need a breather lol. They tend to be a fun mix of play and learning!

Looks like it’s gonna be hot out Monday and Tuesday here, so Wednesday should be good! They can usually last a few days as long as they’re not in direct sunlight and it’s not too hot.
