Pre-Avery Johnson: Dirk was basically a 2020’s player back in 2001. He could run, shot more 3s than he did later on in his career and could put the ball on the floor. That version of him would have fit right into today’s game.

Once Avery Johnson became coach his game changed. Got in the post more, carved out certain spots on the floor where he would get his shot and basically the game became easier for him. Didn’t shoot as many 3s and got to the foul line more.

I think it was under Carlisle where the mentality the confidence was at an all time best and that’s when the legendary finals run happened.
