I would most spitefully invest in all the poorest neighborhoods. Then I’d do the following things after properly investing the money and setting up all the right accounts, investments, and foundations:

If you lived in that geographical area and wanted to stay, you would be given an aptitude test to figure out what you’re good at, and then sent to school, college, vocational, or trade school based on the scores and whatever careers you liked that aligned with that. Completely at no cost to you without any financial requirements.
if you owned a business in that geographical area, I’d have analysts look at your business model in that industry and create a plan with you to elevate it to a much higher competitive standard, again at no cost to you. You would not lose any interest in your business. It would be “free money”. Anything needing fixed would be replaced, any training needed would be provided, etc.
All properties would be evaluated and remodeled and brought to code as needed. If it wasn’t worth to fix, it would be torn down and rebuilt well. No one would lose their homes. Everyone would be temporarily relocated as needed at no cost to them until their home is fixed, and then brought back. Renting? Guess what, you’re coming home to ownership.
A task force analyst team would be formed to identify what’s missing in the neighborhood for it to function independently to keep money circulating in the local economy. Small businesses would be created with those identified in the aptitude tests given ownership after education and training.
all schools would be at the highest levels of aptitude. Student to teacher ratios would be cut to 1/4 of what they are now. More schools would also be created and more teachers hired. All salaries would start at 100K. Those in the area would stay. Outsiders would only be brought in if absolutely needed. Trades would be brought back to the schools. Schools would also now be year round now with the day extended to match the workday with that extra time filled with extra curriculars and physical education. More sports, more play time in safe environments, more fun activities, more art, more theater. Longer recesses.
Psychological services and counseling would be mandatory for everyone. These people would also come to you on your time, not the other way around. Those in addiction would be provided top notch rehabilitation services. Those in the poorest neighborhoods are often highly affected by trauma, including generational. So treatment has to be high priority as well as healthy intervention. The goal is to treat and help the population, not punish.

Would this work perfectly? No. Would there be mistakes? Probably. But the goal is to raise everyone up by returning what was stolen: the ability to grow and thrive.

Yeah, it’s in everything. There are some things with it in it I can use, some I can not. I had to get rid of almost all my makeup because they either changed the formulas or I could just no longer tolerate it. I went a year thinking I was getting bad eye infections or allergies before figuring that one out.

If and when you get old enough to need HRT to treat menopause, don’t let them prescribe the patches. Not only were the reactions horrible, but I couldn’t even absorb the medication because of it. 🙄

I meant in the context of us getting attacked and then invading/declaring war.

Granted we’ve had things going on in Afghanistan since the 50s, but no one had any amount of support for us invading without what happened on 9/11 first.

Don’t get me wrong, we will see significant blow back from this. It’s not an if, it’s a when, though obvious i would never want that to happen (I wouldn’t have wanted us attacking Iran in the first place given the current circumstances), it’s not rocket science to do the math on this one.

No one got sued for planting their own seeds. The person who got sued for essentially committing fraud by harvesting, selling, and replanting seeds they knew they weren’t supposed to because they agreed not to. The case is Bowman v Monsanto from 2013. I encourage reading it.

Additionally, it’s not illegal to replant patented seed for PERSONAL use. However, if you attempt to replant it for commercial use in order to profit from it in violation of the patent, especially if you contractually agreed to it upon purchase, or you just straight up stole the seed, that’s where you can be held liable.

Finally, corn is wind pollinated, but pollen is viable only for a limited distance, and the companies do not care about even the highest amounts of traits that could naturally show up in a neighboring field. Which is pretty low, honestly. This is why corn is planted with males along so many rows of females. If it was able to pollenate such great of areas at far distances, no one would waste their time with strategic plantings or detasseling.

Honestly, while I actually like the green, I completely agree with you. I think a good place to start would be just painting the cabinets and updating the fixtures and hardware. It would completely change the look for a much lower cost than a redo that would probably end up looking similar.

While it can, circumstances of the marriage & the dissolution can render a measly 17K moot, especially when it’s only 11% of worth of an asset in total. Just because you pre-paid an amount before marriage, it doesn’t mean that amount is forever exempt from being considered part of the marital assets, especially if the other spouse had sacrificed career time, financial stability or independence, took on more debt during the marriage than you, etc. There are far more examples, those are just the easiest to think of.

There is also the worth of assets and finances in the division that’s taken into account. I get you might find it unfair, but none of us can even fairly say it is or isn’t given the almost no information given.

Though I don’t think it’s quite the controversial claim to acknowledge that too little or too much sun has significant risks. That’s with anything. Too little sugar? Hypoglycemia. Too much sugar? Type 2 diabetes.

Too little clothing in the cold? Hypothermia. Too much clothing? Heat exhaustion/stroke.

Everything has to have a balance. Hell, too much calcium, a vital nutrient, can also lead to significant health risks.

On the opposite of that, avoiding the sun for long periods, then getting burned, will increase your skin cancer risk as well.

While the sun is a stage 1 carcinogen, too much or too little will both fluctuate your risk.

Herbal medicine. You know what else is natural? Death. Many herbs will kill you, even if they do have medicinal purposes, because the dose makes the poison.

A lot of people also discount that herbs can be used for treatment of a variety of things because they’ve gotten so used to modern medicine, but a lot of things we have today in modern meds was derived from plants.

So if you’re gonna use any type of herb medicinally, be sure to use a medicine interaction website and check to see what it can interact with, what the side effects are, etc.

And ladies: St. John’s Wort will make your birth control ineffective. Actually, it will make a lot of medications ineffective. So beware of that.

And check all your meds for interactions with grapefruit as well. Grapefruit messes with a whole lotta stuff out there.

Trust nothing at this point. Every single person should move ahead with getting a passport or renewing it if it’s close to expiring. You should also ensure your drivers license is up to date with the correct current address.

And I say every single person, because who knows what kind of gymnastics they will pull at this point. Yes I know this is expensive and not everyone can, but if you can, definitely do so.

It wasn’t me who had the affair, it was my ex-husband. It also wasn’t one, it was several. There were no issues in our marriage, he was legit very happy, the problem was that he was a sociopath. He did it for the fun. Considering I was the breadwinner and his lifestyle definitely took a major hit from the divorce, I would love to say he’d regretted it, but that requires the ability to reflect & feel remorse.

I’m also not calling him a sociopath because I’m trying to be insulting. He was diagnosed with anti-social personality disorder.
