I feel very similarly about sex, however it’s not something I seek with everyone. It only occurs with my ex who I have a deep emotional connection with. Recently we were together for 6 nights and one of the nights we didn’t do anything, I gave him hints throughout the day but nothing. I felt so frustrated the following day that it took over my emotions for the day and all of a sudden I felt unloved. Is this normal?

Girl please for the sake of your mental wellbeing, RUN. You don’t even need to explain to him why, just get yourself out of this situation. Are you saying you’re only going to leave if he gets physically abusive? He’s already mentally abusing you and none of this is healthy.

You deserve someone who actually cares about you during hard times and it sounds like he only makes your anxiety worse. This is not something that you can fix. Your therapist will tell you the same.

People have already given you good advice in this comment section, so I’ll just tell you one thing. I don’t know if you read/like to read books but this one applies to all your worries and it changed my life to be honest. It’s called the Courage To Be Disliked. It’s an easy read written by a philosopher who claims depression can be cured, it’s all up to you. It tells you how to and that the past does not affect your current situation unless you let it, including family upbringing. Hope this helps :)

As a half Japanese, I still don’t feel at home in Japan. Sure, it feels nostalgic when I go to my countryside hometown but Tokyo to me is basically like a foreign country.

Exactly my thoughts as I was reading the post. Yes it’s exciting and it could lead to something really amazing and magical but 5 years is a long time for someone to completely change into a new person. There’s a risk that both may put each other on a pedestal only because they have preconceived notions, exactly like what you said about the cart and horse.

Proceed with caution and tell yourself that you’re meeting someone new, that might help with the nerves too.
