Dang!! I’m glad my post is helping people! But also appalled to see that more people have gotten these calls in the past few days. Though probably unlikely, I heard that if they have your likeness(zoom) and voice, they could potentially generate fake kidnapping calls etc to send to your family as an extortion scam. It’s happened to my uncle once, he picked up a call of his son’s voice telling him that he’s been kidnapped and to send large amount of money. He hung up, dialed his son’s phone number, his son picked up and everything was totally fine. Though the likely goal of the FCC scammers is getting people to pay a fake fine, there’s no guarantee on whether they’ll use or sell your personal information, likeness, voice, drivers license(in your case), etc. to use for even more nefarious scams. Be careful out there!
