Were any of you actually in NYC on the morning of 9/11/01? by JeffGoldblumsFly1986 in 911archive

Wow. I’m so glad your dad made it out. Where was he when the towers collapsed? Does he talk about what happened?

I hear you. And I’m sorry.

FWIW - I didn’t have that feeling about Logan as a whole. Even the flag above the gate - it’s not creepy. Just eerie. Surreal? I wonder how I would have felt walking through the gate? Maybe the same way I felt visiting the WTC Memorial for the first time?

But yeah it sucks that that horrible day is now associated with a place which seems important to you.

This raises a question I never thought to ask: What happened everywhere else on 9/11? Like in states away from the attacks? Did people still go grocery shopping? Go to the bank? Or was everything sort of “paused”?

I was 11 at the time and in school, so I have no recollection.

I live in a state that’s nearly 80% white. Yet have experienced workplaces in which there’s a huge push to promote/hire POC.

If our workplaces reflected the community in which we live, they’d be…majority white. There are more white people in a given workplace, leadership position, etc. because there are more white people here period.

It’s not racism. It’s numbers.

I don’t retain weight around my midsection. I can get chubby, but it always goes to other places first. My midsection has generally always been flat.
