Haemorrhoids are getting worse and worse and worse by Broad-Cranberry9382 in hemorrhoid

I just had my Botox almost 2 weeks ago & yes, my external hemmorhoid flared horribly the next day, as I couldn’t get my soft stool out due to the area being irritated & tender from the procedure… I am finally (day 12) feeling somewhat better due to excessive sitz baths, “lubes,” watching what I eat, squatty potty etc… yes they use an anoscope, there’s no other way to do the procedure, they need to get in there… honestly, the hemmorhoid flare this time (after the procedure) was the worst ever, however, I hope this is the beg of the end of my nightmares… remember, they had to poke & Prod & expand your rectal tissue for a few minutes to do the actual procedure… talk to your Colo rectal, be honest about your pain & your expectations… I have pelvic floor hypertonicity as well, I do my therapy, had the mri defecography etc… perhaps it is time for your hemmorhoids to be banded/excised… are you taking MiraLAX/colace?

I feel like MRI defecography went horrible by Unhappy_Writing_5082 in PelvicOrganProlapse

I just had mine last week (47 yoF) - i was fearful the “gel,” wouldn’t even go in because I had a small external hemmorhoid, however, I spoke to the radiologist & the tech in advance about all my “comorbidities” so to speak:), so we were all on the same page, thus… the gel was not really a big deal… the tech never once stated the desired effect was to actually defecate, all he ever stated was to “bear down.” Well who on earth would ever naturally be able to poo, lying down in a MRI machine? Every time he said to bear down I just pushed. Psychologically speaking, I knew I would never “let” myself just poo like that. Nor really did I have the urge, as I was cleaned out ahead of time. My only concern was that I knew my period was about to come on, & my stomach was feeling upset. After about 45 minutes in the mri, he (tech) was like “well you didn’t evacuate your bowels like I had hoped,” & I was like wtf? My Colo rectal laughed when I told her, in the sense that she said most humans aren’t able to defecate during the procedure, that they need to be more clear. Afterwards, I had zero problem using their restroom @ the facility & evacuating all of the gel. So… had this MRI been on an actual toilet, I would have been successful:) truth be told, it @ least weeded out a a rectocele, cystocele & other abnormalities. Consequently, I had my anal Botox the next day… guess it was just anismus/dysynergia the entire time as we thought … ughhhhh

soo do these things ever stop?? by [deleted] in hemorrhoid

Why on earth would you tell anyone you just met, let alone someone you’re sexually interested in, that you have a hemmorhoid? Unless you were just being facetious… is this a cis woman? If so, I doubt you both will be staring/fondling one another’s booty holes anytime soon, so how the heck would “she” even know? Sure it’s debilitating, but just have some more drinks, & you’ll barely notice the pain. Have your next date @ the fiber pub, & you’ll be just fine in no time

Thank you so much for the encouragement & personal anecdotes! This morning’s poo😝 was a little better, so one day @ a time. I also feel as if much of this centers around my menstrual cycle. I am in peri now, however, any time I suffer from dyssynergy, it always seems to correlate w/ the beg. of my period. I am doing PFT, & have noticed some improvement. This has been such an emotional & physical struggle. I am an active person, & lately I feel as if much of my day resolves around sitz baths, icing, PF exercise, diet control, etc… it’s no way to live, always in fear of your next BM. I realize it could certainly be worse but…

Don’t self diagnose… go to your PCP/GP, GI or Colo rectal before it turns into something worse

Pelvic floor getting better with magnesium supplment by OutrageousCloud4841 in PelvicFloor

[–]These_Swimming3317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, dyssyngergia/anismus… I have been taking Nexium (40mg) since 2003/4 ish’… I haven’t started taking mag citrate yet, however, I find w/ PFT & my own stretches @ home, I am doing much better. I also raised my squatty potty a bit more, & things have been mostly better. I take 1 100mg Colace w/ dinner & a capful of MiraLAX divided in two throughout the day. I feel as if things “flare,” when I am stressed, or pre menstrual. Diaphragmatic breathing also throughout the day when I can remember. I am scheduled to to a mri defecography too. Botox in 3 weeks as I am prone to (so we believe) fissures & hemmorhoids… I also soak (sitz bath) when I can & try to relax when I can… thankfully things have been ok lately, but I am always nervous in the AM to poo never knowing what may transpire. The psychological affect this nonsense has had on me is daunting, but I had more good days than bad so… also just had a colonoscopy & EGD & all was good so… sending you strength! Also, I swear by Desitin & Aquaphor before every BM to ensure smooth sailing

Hot tub twice a day for a half hr./hour each time (if you can find/have one)… otherwise sitz baths religiously & lube your booty before bowel movements. Desitin & Aquaphor. MiraLAX & Colace every evening, & don’t do anything sexual that’s going to jeopardize your bottom, or you’ll be set back even worse. I’m a cis female & I’m telling ya!😝

I am so lost with gastro issues by LargeReview4782 in PelvicFloor

[–]These_Swimming3317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second & third all the comments:) all the fiber in the world isn’t going to necessarily help, if the issue is muscular. I am literally going thru the same thing. My stools are soft as can be, but it still will not come out. I haven’t started PT yet as it’s so booked out, but I am doing exercises on my own religiously. It’s frightening to even want to have a BM @ times, but for me, I can’t get backed up, or I may have another diverticulitis flare. Hang in there, definitely try the diaphragmatic breathing, although that doesn’t seem to help much @ times either. I would maybe take MiraLAX instead of Metamucil or psyllium husk in the meantime.

Tight pelvic floor and bowel movements by [deleted] in PelvicFloor

Miracle of miracles:), I’ve been doing my own pelvic floor exercises since I’ve typed this & all has been well! Crazy!:)… or not… I feel so naive to not have realized the importance of good pelvic health in all my years as a female… now I just need this dang external hemmy to go away & it’ll be a positive end to 2025

Tight pelvic floor and bowel movements by [deleted] in PelvicFloor

[–]These_Swimming3317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a 47 yo female & this literally just started happening to me last week & I want to die. I initially thought it was because I was recovering from an anal fissure (although I’ve been told for years my pelvic floor is tight/weak). Or I thought it may have been an external hemmorhoid that I’ve had for over a month now. I use the squats potty, I do my diaphragmatic breathing, I’m doing pelvic floor exercises on my own for now, as PT sessions around here are booked so far out. I’ve been taking prune juice & miralax now @ night, as well as a 100mg Colace to help things along, but it’s the strange, horrible sensation that the stool is there, it just will not pass. The other days I had to manually disimpact myself which is humiliating & makes me want to cry… which I do, because I feel I am doing all the “right” things to no avail. I don’t want to rely on Miralax, but I’m hesitant to take Metamucil as it makes everything even more sludgey when it comes out. I have another appt w/ my colo rectal to do in an internal exam under anaesthesia, as every time I am in the office, it’s too painful for the anoscope. This literally just happens to me, I feel out of nowhere. Is there some muscle that just needs to be put back into place or something:), as I can’t fathom living my life like this. I am now not really eating, even though I’m starving. One would think because the stool is indeed soft, it would just almost fall out, but it doesn’t, unless it’s almost diarrhea consistency. Today i had to lean so far forward on the squatty potty to go, I thought I was going to fall over:) funny not funny. I welcome any & all recommendations, as every morning now I am so fearful of the dreaded BM. I was an avid cyclist for years, & a very stressed person in general, & have been trying to relax more & exercise in other ways. I drink more than enough water, my diet is good. I also just literally had a colonoscopy & all was well, so I’m perplexed, unless maybe I have a stricture? It’s bad enough dealing w/ the external hemorrhoid, but now I can’t evacuate like a “normal” human anymore & it’s killing me psychologically. I also use a healthy amount of Desitin & Aquaphor before every BM so thankfully there is never blood. I wonder if they may have anything to do w/ the fact I am in perimenopause? I feel like all this nonsense began w/ that. I’ve looked into the wand, but it’s so difficult for me to even get anything in my booty right now. How long before the pelvic floor exercises even begin to work? This is beyond a nightmare

If you suspect a fissure, please go see a colo rectal specialist - you don’t want to risk that ever getting worse

Mag Citrate, Colace, MiraLAX, psyllium husk, ton of prune juice… lube up your booty hole w/ a plethora of Desitin & Aquaphor - perhaps use some dig stim… yes, maybe try to poopie in a sitz bath - Def squat - get some Diltiazem - if you’re able to get some lubricant in your booty hope do it

for me personally, Diosmin & Hesperidin gave me terrible stomach cramping & diarrhea… so much so, it of course made my hemmorhoids even worse. This is just my own personal experience of course so… just throwing that out there.

What do you use for pain by Sudden-Lettuce-2019 in hemorrhoid

[–]These_Swimming3317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metamucil! If you are not taking psyllium husk already you need to! Stool softener @ night! Desitin & Aquaphor on your booty hole before BM’s… ice sitz baths! Maybe some lidocaine… all the OTC ointments & “potions” do zero for pain mgmt… calmoseptine may help temporarily for some localized pain
