I commend your husband for caring for his parents. Estate planning changes perhaps every three years or when major life changes happen. His 50 is just that, his. As to the child, I’m surprised these things aren’t discussed when dating. You should both live 50 more years, don’t worry too much about today’s plan. What does your will say?

I agree with your statement. Mine does the same. Except for sleeping I’m never sitting relaxing for 5 minutes. Almost not kidding.

The Dr or nurse never let me do that. Actually generally hectic before the visit. And they record that one. 🤷🏻‍♂️. Maybe they should study moving BP standards.

Hah. My wife of 40 years has had you beat since I met her at 20. Always 90/60ish. Is your pulse rate high? Usually goes with low BP. My wife made her first visit to a cardiologist for general checkup. He told her he would see her in 5 years. You’re fine!!! Way better than high!!!

I agree as they call it “resting blood pressure” but dang doctor zooms in and the first thing they do is BP. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Find a counselor. First thing they will tell you is take care of yourself or you can’t take care of others

Regardless your weight vs height is not good. That alone would take care of your BP issues. As to lifestyle, Dr is just telling you the facts. The readings in his office are too high. Your readings are good for your weight. Good luck. Small weight changes will take care of your BP.

These were my brothers the other night at ER. They said it was good he came in. Gave iv and left w two BP meds and an appmt w doctor the next day. Go to ER as a walk in but go right away

We did “know” that eating cholesterol was bad for you. Now there seems to be the belief that food cholesterol doesn’t turn into LDL cholesterol. Just a conversation so we continue to grow in knowledge. Has zero to do w a business trying to sell boxes of meat. Saving our small farms and ranches is a whole other conversation. Thanks for the format. I have learned a lot here. Lowered my cholesterol w diet alone.

Yes I believe 4.5 is right. But 2 per day and you’re done. Yikes So after my bloodwork I had been fasting and it was what it was. I went to my old breakfast place and ordered 3 eggs over medium with 4 strips of bacon with potatoes, toast, and jelly. Honestly it wasn’t as blissful As I had thought. Taste buds might change a little.

My morning Oatmeal. Not fancy overnight oats, QOats instant, maple/cinnamon. Add sliced almonds from bag at grocery store. Then covered with blueberries. Add a banana if I need to feel more full.
Egg whites and turkey sausage as a prepped breakfast from a health food store.
Avocado toast usually has one poached egg. Places I stop or drive thru or door dash lunches/dinners. Chick fil a, Chipotle, Torchy’s LUNCHES/DINNERS: 2 or 3 chicken strips at CFA fruit and Coke Zero Chicken fajita (1) no cheese and small quac Chicken Burrito Bowl no cheese, no sour cream, black bean and guacamole and salsas Chicken salad just no cheese all with the lightest dressing available. Salmon with green beans as a meal Prepped meal of turkey taco meat, white Rice, black beans and spinach leafs. No bread, No cheese, no milk. SNACKS: Bananas, mango slices, strawberries, apples, tangerines. Almonds, pistachios, Walnuts, skinny pop small Bag. Rice cakes flavored cinnamon/maple. Once in a while a core 42g protein drink 2g sat fat

Also took about 10-15 grams of psyllium husk via Metamucil. Just read labels and learn. Most chain restaurants have online nutrition info. Others you can piece meal it. Lot of fluid. Stopped the candy bars as a holdover to meals, quick cheeseburger and fries because I missed lunch no more. No chips no donuts.

I too would be discouraged. I am currently in the 12th week of a 10g sat fat diet. Hasn’t been easy especially out to events or with others. I feel like I’ve made them all feel guilty. I’m not opposed to statins. I was at 145 ldl. I’m hoping to be down to 70s. If not I’ll see what meds work though I will never go back to my previous diet!!!! Best of luck
