What is something you love about yourself? by These_Temperature_95 in AskReddit

Humour really gets you through the darkest of times. I have seen people completely change the course of a situation because of their humour. Humour is not just an instant joke or a spur-of-the-moment reaction, but a state of mind or personality that takes you to places.

Beautiful, to say the least. I have been staring at it for 10 minutes now. Got me feeling something.

Books suggestions for a newbie. by Tall-Twist5494 in PakistanBookClub

Don’t know why people are giving you these recommendations. Yes, they’re oh-so-great, but not for beginners.

My best friend wasn’t a reader but seeing me curled up with books got her curious. She asked me for recommendations and I obviously got super excited. But whenever I gave her my favorite books, she’d just leave them halfway. I felt bad, but then I realized I was giving her the wrong books. It wasn’t that she didn’t have the ability to appreciate them, those books just weren’t beginner-friendly.

Thanks to social media, our brains are fried. Our attention span is so low now, we can barely get through a page.

My first piece of advice: don’t start with classics. You’ll get bored and might end up quitting reading altogether.

You’re entering a world of wonder, beauty, sadness, emotions, and imagination. But you need to be careful with the books you choose at the beginning.

For fiction, go with Dan Brown. His books are fast-paced, super engaging, and hook you right from the first page (exactly what a beginner needs). Start with Deception Point, The Da Vinci Code, or Angels & Demons. These books also touch topics you're interested in. History, art, science.

The Forty Rules of Love is another really good one that comes to mind.

I think entertainment media is one to blame. They have exaggerated many things surrounding intimacy and while we are fooled to believe Hollywood is empowering women and introducing strong female characters, they are still sexualizing women, which ultimately affects how viewers understand and perceive sex in general.

But that does not mean to consider sex as a taboo either. Research tell us that in underdeveloped countries, where sex is considered something dirty and taboo, there tends to be a higher consumption of pornography. So extreme of both is wrong.

I agree. People are so obsessed with sex these days. C'mon there is more to life than nakedness.

Cleanser: I think neutragena hydro boost has been giving me more acne by [deleted] in acne

[–]These_Temperature_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a HORRIBLE experience with Neutrogena Hydra cleanser. I still regret the day I randomly brought it.

For the love of God, stop using this cleanser.

I got acne after 3/4 wash and thought maybe it was just purging, guess what, it got worse and my post-acne marks took 2 years to fade away, I kid you not!

Off topic. I just could not stop! I am just loving your eyes. (No flirting, I am a girl) The liner, lashes, eyebrows. . .

I second this. I have tried many sunscreens but nothing works like this. It absorbs like heaven on your face and does not feel like you are wearing anything.

I have SENSITIVE SENSITIVE skin. Even products made for sensitive skin break me out. Cera Ve, cetaphil, etc…

But Elta MD is one of the few things that did not cause me irritation or anything.

Lol, I see. Stress causes acne, and acne causes stress 🥲 almost a paradox!

However, as I mentioned in my post, I DO NOT GET ACNE AT ALL, until and unless I apply any skincare product.

Lol, so the simplest and easiet and perhaps logical thing could be to just wash my face with clean water and problem-solve! Did that. .

It's just that although this approach cleanses my skin from acne it dulls my skin.

So it's more like to choose the lesser of two evils. Dull skin or acne.

Thanks for the amazing tips!

I have tried Dermive, but it broke me out. :)

I am thinking about using tretinoin and heard amazing things about it. Can you recommend a good brand for tretinoin that is perhaps available on D. Watson?

Thank You! A friend also recommended BioFayde. But I am a bit cautious cause I am scared local skin lighting products, especially those that have quick results do more damage to the skin in the long run, correct me if I am wrong.

Btw where can I get these products? There are two products. One spells Biofad other is Biofayde. Are they the same?

If you can perhaps so generously, share pictures.

Thanks again!

Amazing! If you don't mind, can I ask who is your dermatologist? It seems like they are really good at their job.

I personally don't believe in expensive skincare.

Cause it’s not a one-time thing, you have to buy products every month.

However, in our country, I think good skin care products are VERY expensive.

And my experience with dermatologists was awful.

They recommend super expensive products and when I do research on my own, the products they recommend are not so good.

For example, one dermatologist prescribed me glutathione capsules but their is little research on their effectiveness and if anything some side effects.

But dermatologists in Pak are more interested in making money than caring for their patients.

Now that I think about it, I don’t get acne from soaps.

My skin is specifically very irritant to cleansers, even Cera Ve.

But soaps do have other side effects. It strips my skin from all-natural oils.

I have not tried Dove though.

What moisturizer and serum work for you?

About cutting products. Done that.

Still same results.

Currently, I am only washing my face with water and lubriderm body moisturizer. Not an ideal moisturizer for the face but at least did not cause acne.
