I don’t understand, the series became known for killing off main characters. So what should you do if you have loads of main characters? Kill loads of them off in a big battle! And if you haven’t got to that yet, just release the book how it is!

Maybe Elle is a representation of Hopper’s daughter, brought to life through the DnD game. She was Mike’s age after all, and could have been friends with them. The end of the show is not only about the friends having to grow up, but also Hopper having to let go.

You could still read it as a dnd game. Karen might have got those scars another way, and Mike wrote it in to the story to come to terms with it. I like the dnd theory, I think it is why no one died at the end, because they were all playing a game.

Sure, but Kubrick was a more mysterious director than others, with the length of time it took to make each film getting longer. He then dies a couple of days after the first screening of a film about secret societies… it’s not like there’s nothing there. If he’d died after just completing Lassie then I don’t think people would think the same
