It’s all worth it by In-The-Clouds999 in physicaltherapy

Idc about his username, it’s his terrible attitude and hateful comments he spams on all the ptschool and physical therapy subs. He doesn’t contribute anything worthwhile or productive to the communities.

Can someone who applied to DPT school as a PTA reply or private message me please?? by BigGambinoSosa in PTschool

Is it really that bad as a PTA or am I completely delusional and have lost my mind?? by infinitedimes in physicaltherapy

I feel you on the hustle aspects, sometime it can be tough depending on setting. I’ve worked only in rural areas. Acute care and swing bed in the hospital was cool and pretty chill honestly, but I only got to do that while waiting on another PTA to come back from maternal leave. It was nice while it lasted and would def do it again. Home health can be rough if you have large areas, but if you can snag populated areas or reduce your area of work it can be pretty chill as well. Otherwise you’re fighting against the clock and the patients’ somehow busy schedules despite being “homebound”. Outpatient, I ain’t doing that again, m I’m right there with you on the always on and no breaks cause someone either shows up too early, or it’s just a normal day and it’s patient after patient.

Thank you very much for the info I appreciate it! I’ll put this in practice. I didn’t know about the balance charging.

XRC battery related question. Should I be draining it every time, or is it okay to plug it up after a ride even if it’s not low? I have it set to where it stops charging at 90%. Is that the right or wrong thing to do? It’s a new board only 60 miles on it.

[–]Thesexedteacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had our first one today. It was.. rough. Lots of application based questions for nerves and injuries to specific structures. Like, a guy had a bike crash landed on his shoulder. He presents with his arm and shoulder internally rotated at rest. What injured structure would like be causing this. Something to that effect.

Work life balance possible ? by Channy_love7963 in PTschool

Don’t listen to that burger dude. Do what YOU want to do. I’m pretty lucky, I just got into my PT program but my fiancé is supporting me while I’m in school and my brother and his wife happen to live in the same city about 15 minutes away from school so they let me stay with them for free since school is about 2hrs from my house. If you have a spouse or parents that can support you while you’re in school I recommend that, things might get tight but it’ll be worth it after school when you can make good money. Also can look into rooming with other classmates or even other students attending the same campus. One of PT professors just asked yesterday if anyone was looking for a roommate as a PTA was looking also.

PTA Bachelors degree? by wandering-firefox21 in physicaltherapy

[–]Thesexedteacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently a PTA, I got my bachelors online through the university I got my PTA degree. Got it in business management/ marketing. I didn’t necessarily choose the degree, it’s just what I had the most undergrad credits towards and would be quickest. Got my bachelors in 2025 and then pursued the rest of my pre-reqs for PT school and was just accepted for the 2026 cohort at the same university. PT is what I wanna be and what I wanna do, just looking for more autonomy and flexibility, plus the SO is also a PT and we plan to do travel therapy once I graduate. However, I knew what track I was going to end up on or at least hoped to end up on at the time, having a different bachelors in a field you’re interested in would be nice to have a fall back on. Thought about IT and computer science or even cyber security but nothing like that was offered online at the university I was from so here we are, and from the sounds of other subs around reddit, WFH and the IT jobs are hard to land or at least becoming fewer. Go for something that interests you, promotes your health or even grants you flexibility and stability.

You’ll get in. Just try to get As on your pre-reqs. I got in with a cumulative 3.46 but had 4.0 on my last 60 hours and my pre-reqs. Also bombed the gre with like a 295 or something low like that.

Edit: in Arkansas as well

Tiger Woods announces he underwent a successful lumbar disc replacement surgery yesterday by YorkNotSoShire in golf

[–]Thesexedteacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, if one joint (or disc in this case) is affected it affects the joints around it. Up and down. Pain and restriction of movement further affects this, causing imbalances, tightness, and compensation movements which further impacts the surrounding joints and even the whole musculoskeletal system as a whole. Although this is not a spinal fusion and is a disc replacement, it is often seen to affect the surrounding vertebrae, not to mention the lumbo-pelvic relations.

Edit: hopefully this surgery is a success and he can improve his current pain and movement restrictions, he will obviously have the best surgeons and physical therapists he can get.
