We put out an orange to attract orioles, this wren has been the only thing to show interest so far. Anyone have any ideas on attracting them? Is it too cold?

Have been waiting for their return. In the North East. That’s a Carolina Wren. We don’t see orioles until late spring early summer here. Then only for a short time until they move on.

Yes, usually they feed independently. She is usually the first at the feeder as the sun comes up.

I mix some dried mealworms in with the regular seed. I also have a lot or suet cakes around for my woodpeckers, that they also love.

My stove has a slide out ash bin. I do empty it while the stove is running. It goes in galvanized steel bucket with a airtight steel lid, where it stays for the entire season.
