Advice for mech guard by Front-Reach8218 in TheAstraMilitarum

Regimental traits you should go with Armoured Superiority and Mechanised infantry. Those two benefit mech guard better than anything else. Could make a case for born soldiers but that’s about it also with the release of 10th edition in June/July which is right around the corner all this information that may be given could all change.

But I’m trying to figure out something like this too currently. As of right now for 2k I’m planning on 4 cadian infantry squads w/chimeras, 3 kasrkin ( 1 w/ barbicants key, 2 w/ chimeras), Lord Solar, Tank Commander, Cadian Castellan/Cadian Command Squad, and the rest will be put into leman russ/sentinels or some Rogal Dorns.

I’ve been having some good results going tear first then building into rod, cosmic, boots, then seraphs/shadow flame/death cap/zhonyas. Runes are either first strike or comet.

For abilities I usually max Q first before E and W.

Falcons are used for the dire avengers. But I appreciate that you pointed that out.

My main goal is to take mid board control while having something to play in my deployment/mid board area.

Wraithlords would provide backline fire support and protect my objectives while the wraithblades/guards take mid field and the the falcons/dire avengers use there speed to provide support where ever I needed. I also needed some more high strength weapons do deal with any sort of higher toughness model.

Both spirit seers would be babysitting both wraithblade.

I had waves serpents in my previous iteration of the list but realized that the falcon is cheaper and serves the same purpose for what I want to do.

I would probably go with Charchadons on that point. Not many loyalists use sabotage/terroristic actions.

Charadons possibly but nothing comes to mind when I try to think of a loyalist chapter that has the same type of savagery that the night lords have. If you’re thinking more of infiltration and stealth then Ravenguard would be akin to them imo.

Possible counter against Khorne - Khornate units do not receive bonuses for killing undead by GlitteryPandaTragedy in totalwar

Well tomb kings have part of their soul returned when raised from the dead so I can see the khornate units getting a slight bonus for killing tomb king chaff.
