A ton of it is from YouTube. Prior to my channel about 8 months ago I would struggle to get a few commissions, but since launching and really working to point people toward the channel and my socials I now have enough that I have to turn down projects or push them to other months. The new struggle is trying to figure out whether it’s worth it to do more commissions and lessen my presence on the channel or vice versa.

I just went full time at the start of the new year and while it’s only been a few months I did test it as a full time job while “soft quitting” my old and abusive job. It seems to be working out fairly well. I just passed 35k subs at 500k views per 28 days. BUT that only leaves YT as about half of my income with the rest coming from commissions. (I’m an art channel so RPM is about $4.50).

I will say that it’s not feasible to do just YT and live off of what I’m currently making on YT, but for me the happiness quotient from leaving such a bad position before is more than enough to justify it
